Weather Forecast - Glasgow

Glasgow:

The Warriors have 1 win and 1 defeat against their name. In Round 2 they were beaten 34-26 away to Connacht, leading 19-14 at the break but overhauled in the second half although with 3 tries a piece the Warriors did earn a bonus point.

Glasgow opened their campaign at home to outright favourites Leinster. They fielded a strong side including several Scottish internationals (Leinster were without their Irish internationals) and they came out on top 43-25 scoring 6 tries to 3 to secure a bonus point.

At home to South African sides last season the Warriors beat the Bulls 35-21 and the Stormers 24-17 whilst in SA they lost to the Sharks 40-12 and the Lions 35-24

In the outright betting the Warriors are 28/1 shots to win the tournament with BoyleSports

Stormers:

After 2 rounds of matches the Stormers top the log as the only side with the full house of 10 log points. In Round 2 they made short work of the Scarlets in Stellenbosch, running in 8 tries on their way to a 52-7 victory.

The Stormers (5.5 point favourites) made a winning start away to the Lions in an SA derby in the opening round but they had to survive a Lions fightback to cling on to a 35-33 victory. They led 27-7 at half time and were 32-7 to the good at one stage in the second half before the Lions late rally came up just short.

As far as recent form against Scottish opposition is concerned the Stormers lost to the Warriors 24-17 in Round 12 last season whilst a Round 3 home clash with Edinburgh saw them win 34-18.

After this the Stormers visit Benetton, Munster and Cardiff. In the outright betting the Stormers are 57/10 second favourites to win the tournament with BoyleSports who make Leinster 13/20 favourites.

Betting Angle

The handicap on this game opened Warriors -3.5 and the money has come for the home team who are starting to approach full strength. The Stormers are trying a few new combinations but still field what I think is a decent side and while at -3.5 I would back the home team I think the current handicap is about right.

Total points is set at 44.5 which seems low but there is bad weather about so will sit that one out.

I am going to go for a Glasgow win but by no more than 12 points.
