When you hear people talking sports betting the discussion usually revolves around the English Premier League, Super 14 rugby or some other major sporting event. The high profile nature of these events grabs the public’s attention and there is nothing quite like watching the game with some money riding on it

The football season is nearly upon us and while I usually reserve my focus for the English Premier League and the PSL this year I am going to be taking more than a parting interest in Coca Cola League 2 which is effectively the English 4th division.

I have been betting for long enough to know that making money from sports betting is about far more than just picking lots of winners.  It was another late night for me sitting up till 01h30 watching my 40/1 shot Brian Gay close out the St Jude Invitational. He won by 5 shots so it could be argued that I could have hit the sack earlier but I have seen amazing collapses before and simply had to be there to guide him home.Â

The Confederations Cup starts on Sunday and the reasoning behind hosting the event exactly a year ahead of the World Cup is to provide some sort of a test as to how ready we are and whether there are any areas that need extensive focus over the next 12 months.Â
