Sunday games,

Newcastle v Villa, going for the draw
http://www.goodforthegame.co.za/footbal … villa.html

Fulham v Man Utd, I can't see 7/10 Man Utd lasting too long but they are goal handicap kings and I like United -1 goal at 1.96

Cheers Brent, that was indeed a good price.

Here's a wrap of the rest of Saturday's games, most of which look pretty open contests.

Re: English footy 21st-23rd August

lol, liked the Wigan v Chelsea preview Chris!

I'm hoping for a thumping win for Chelsea, I had a decent sized bet on Martinez to be 1st Premiership Manager casualty @ 9/1 and getting nervous that a draw or result over Chelsea will make him safe for some time. Not wishing bad things for the guy but a punt is a punt! big_smile

Re: English footy 21st-23rd August

lol, cheers, i enjoyed that

Back to the footy and the not always Might Mackems have probs in central defence at West Brom tomorrow with John Mensah on the injury list and Michael Turner still suspended so a bit makeshift in the centre of the back 4.

I reckon overs could be worth a lash, we let 2 in last week to keep Catsmug happy and West Brom shipped 6 so ?'s over both defences. Havent price checked but at least 11/10

Re: English footy 21st-23rd August

Like the look of the following bet this weekend. Spurs will not be putting out their best 11 when they play Stoke, due to their surprising 3-2 loss to young Boys. The second leg will be taking preferance next week, and it has been confirmed that the following spurs players will not be involved against stoke ( Defoe, Robbie Keane, Palvychenko, Modric, Woodgate and dos santos) Stoke are usually quite tight at the back, and with the majority of Spurs` attacking force out, under 2.5 @ 7/10 looks a decent shout.

Re: English footy 21st-23rd August

I was originally going to go for Stoke Double Chance knowing that Spurs has such a hectic injury list, but at odds of just under 6/10, it just does not appeal to me at all. I may throw in a cheeky Stoke Draw no bet though smile Brittania stadium is a really tought place to go to with your best XI, let alone having to worry about injuries to key players at such an early part of the season.

Yeah, congrats on the acca-nice one!
My Tottenham tip was shot to hell before half time!
Thankfully salvaged some funds back by taking Chelsea on the handicap.

Re: English footy 21st-23rd August

shot lads!  beersmiley

With these big priced acca's you're constantly waiting for the last minute goal to scupper it, couldn't believe it landed, will be trying those tactics again next week!!

Mackem i think that is 1 out of 1 for the webcast best bet, overs landed in the Hamburg game? Nice!

Glad you got on Chelsea BB, a thumping win as I hoped for and piles the pressure on Martinez in the 1st Manager to go market.  roll

Re: English footy 21st-23rd August

See Wigan have Spurs next week South, they had 9 put past them there last season. Your man must be worried.

I'm slightly in front with Arsenal goals, overs in Germany and unders in the Swallows Supersport game but Sunderland (overs) let me down and I needed Bloem to equalise against Chiefs last night.

I could do with Man Utd winning by 2 today!

Re: English footy 21st-23rd August

mackem,
One good thing about united, is that they adapt so quickly. We may not even miss Rooney on the park today. Paul Scholes had a cracker last week, spreading the ball about with exceptional accuracy. I reckon United could still pip the handicap, but may only happen in the second half. Fergie`s speeches at half time always gets them geared up. I opted for United to win the second half at 15/20. If Hernandez plays, I reckon he could get on the score sheet again.

Re: English footy 21st-23rd August

Had a bit of change so went with a speculative acca bet smile
0.5 units on this:
Genk outright 13/20
Rangers HT 13/10
FC Utrecht HT 15/20
Newcastle draw HT 11/10
Man United to win 2nd half 15/20
Sheffield Utd Double Chance 13/20

Good times seem to be back at St. James` park, go magpies!! They definately played better than what the scoreline suggested last week against Man Utd. Who needs Shearer when you have a scoreline like this before half time!

Re: English footy 21st-23rd August

Villa all over the place at the back here. Shows how poor West Ham were last week I guess.

Still feeling ok about United win on the handicap BB, the little Mexican fella may be the key. Also agree on Scholes, still real quality and wish he had changed his mind about playing for England in the WC.

Catsmug, caught the end of the WBA game (recording), Bruce looked like a man with the world on his shoulders and we were awful. We got City next week, then Wigan, if things dont go well expect abuse from the crowd. I dont think he will be first out but he might not see out the season and in any case whenever he goes, I have my eye on an outstanding candidate to take over who will be a huge, huge price in the next manager market  wink .

Re: English footy 21st-23rd August

mackem,
The handicap is warming up to me again, United are usually perrenial slow starters, but have come out flying this season. With Chelsea adding another 6 yesterday to their Goal scoring tally, United will surely need to keep their GD relatively close, should it go down to the wire-which is more likely to happen. I still fancy the Man Utd to win 2nd half bet, I reckon it represents decent value. May just throw in United -1 as well smile
As for you manager market, Hope that works out for you, as Im relatively sure Bruce will not see the end of this season!

We should have backed him for first goal mate! 1 up half time but work to do, first 20 mins was all Man Utd but Fulham back into it a bit.

Just seen an amazing stat - not 1 corner in the Wigan v Chelsea game - you would think the keeper could at least have palmed 1 around the corner???

I heard about that stat Brent,
not sure if this is true but apparently some poor sod layed 0 corners for £14 at 1000/1 with Betfair!

Blimey, City were unrecognisable from the performance against Spurs, they play Sunderland on sunday, very worried we will get hammered on that evidence.
