J&B Met Competition leaderboard updates

Many thanks for you all your entries, compo is now closed. I'll be doing some in-running leaderboard updates on this thread from race 3 onwards.

Two races in and it's Justin who's streaked clear with a nice priced winner in first with President Of Pop. None of us found Money Surger in the second. Two good results for bookmakers so far.

Justin = R1440
The Field = -R200!

Plenty of racing still to go. Very interesting stat - 44% have gone for Born To Be Wild in the last, a 12/1 shot. That's nearly as many who've gone for Igugu in the Met - a collective well thought out value bet?

Hi BR, got to take off R100 for each losing bet.

UPDATE after Race 5:

Despite two favourites coming home that plenty were on, it's only 3 guys who are in virtual profit right now (Agra paid R1.50 and Jackson R2). Lodar and Manxman found Northern Conquest in 4th at a nice price to close in on Justin.

LEADERBOARD -

Justin = R1490
Lodar = R1050
Manxman = R850
Field = minus R150 to minus R500

Get's interesting from here on as lots of mixed fancies, expecting to see a few guys come out the pack

Justin still holds a R250 lead from Lodar but still 3 races to go and a big result could bring a few back into the hunt.

Going down to the wire - Justin wants Born To Be Wild, Lodar wants Hospitality, Batrico also on BTBW and Manxman on Orchard House.

But if a big outsider wins then someone could come out the pack in negative position to pip them all! KT has Vengence and Dinks has Komatiepoort, either of those win and they'll probably nick it.

A big well done to Justin who takes first prize, he hit the front at the start of the day and was never headed. beersmiley

A valiant 2nd place from Lodar who shows good profit for the day.

And well done Batrico, Manxman and remaining lads who showed profit for the day.

Thanks South for the competition, well done to Justin and Lodar and congrats to everyone who ended up on the day. My first effort on gambling on the horses - I understand why they call it a mugs game! But definitely a fun afternoon.

Thanks guys. Well done Justin. Unfortunetly I was well in the red with my real money bets at the end of the day, got hammered in the main event, had Igugu for the win but most of my bets were structured to have BB right up there.
