Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

Is there anyone who can recommend a good sports service or handicapper out there?
(I already use Morrissons system ONLY C-bets and Sportpicks365.com and they are working).

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

RyanH not sure all of us are on the same wavelength as you on this one (which probably explains the silence) but there has been some discussion before around systems such as the Martingdale system before and I understood the Morrissons system to be a variation of that although I stand to be corrected.

I am not aware of any systems or handicappers on offer locally for sport although there are a few of those sorts in the horseracing game.

Personally I prefer doing my own homework (or following the research of fellow forum members) as for me that is part of the fun.

As I said upfront not sure if I have interpreted what you are looking for correctly or whether you are now going to tell us about a system of sorts that cannot fail to make money?  wink

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

Thanks for the feedback Brent. Well, I´m the first to say that "chase"-systems who use martingale is absolute crap, terrible moneymanagement. But only flatbetting the C-bets in Morrissons system is statistically really good, they went 18-3 last season (not many plays but with that record you can bet larger stakes), and when you haven´t lost money betting the A and B-bets then you don´t have bet to "catch up".
Of Course there isn´t such a thing as a "system that cannot fail" and will never be.
As for Sportpicks365, I have been following them for quite some time and they have delivered really good results (and money). They have ups and downs, but as long as it´s profitable I´m sticking with them.
I was just wondering if someone else in this forum know about some other service/handicapper/etc who is good so that I cn increase my bets.My aim is to have somewhere betwen 5-15 bets per day and win 65-70% of them.

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

For today Morrison has got a C-bet on the LA Angels. Sportpicks365 have got Cubs ML, LA Angels Over the total 7.5 & Atletico Madrid -1(Soccer, asian handicap).

Brent: I really like to analyse and make my own bets, but with a full time job, wife and 2 kids I don´t really have the time. I like the "action" and if you are winning it´s even better.

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

Yeah Ruggabugga, excellent night yesterday! That´s my philosophy as well, look at sport and make money at the same time.
Regarding sportpicks365, you can check out www.sportpicks365.com.

Morrisons system is a chase system, but "properly" used it could be a goldmine. The system works like this: Team A gets swept by team B in a 3-game series. The next time these teams meet you should (according to the system) bet on Team A until they win. If you skip betting the first 2 games in the 3-series and only bet the third game (Team A has now lost 5 in a row) then this is working excellent. (Bet ML if the team is favourite and +1.5 if the team is a underdog).
Well this is working for me, is there anyone else who can recommend a good handicapper/sports service or system??

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

Hey Ryan,
that strategy of backing a team that's been on a losing streak is something i loosely follow myself. 1 example where i'll use it is in UK Football on home win statistics, goes a bit like this:

It's quite early in the season now, but over coming weeks you'll see fewer and fewer teams without a home win. Now you know every team is going get 1 sooner or later, it's just a matter of deciding when to get behind them. I'll normally start taking the home team in a double result, so win+draw, as the pattern will often be 1 of no longer losing but still not getting the elusive home win. It's good for acca's or double bets.

Anyway not really a strategy like the ones you have to pay for, but 1 that has brought me success in past.

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

Southpaw: INTERESTING stuff, feels like Bolton is a team who will get a homewin soon, 0-0 against Fulham and 2-2 against Birmingham and Bolton actually was the better team in both matches... Do you wait like 2 homedraws and then bet on a homewin? Or do you bet on you own "feeling".
As for the fact that I use a pay service, they actually pay themselves. Sportpicks365 for example made me $212 Wednesday and $192 yesterday and they charge $199 a month.....

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

Hi Ryan, I am assuming you are not based in SA?

Your post is very interesting in that it raises a question in my mind:

It has recently been clarified that for local punters to bet with off shore bookmakers is illegal (although if you have a bank account in the UK for example then I THINK it is ok)

Clearly the likes of SportsPicks365 are based overseas but if I understand correctly this is a tipping service not a bookie so I would imagine that paying for information from them is fine (a bit like buying any other product) as long as you use the information locally?

The figures above are certainly impressive.

Regards my strategy:

First and foremost I am a value seeker and I hold a range of accounts to ensure that I always get the best deal and maximise profits while minimizing losses.
This is especially true in spreads where I use the example that by holding multiple accounts in the S14 you can benefit from at least 1 unit per game on average - at R100 a unit thats a difference of R9400 over the tournament.

I play the sports I historically do well at, mainly rugby where I focus on spreads where I climb in when I believe that the potential upside is far greater than the potential downside - not correct all the time but overall this has worked for me.

The other key thing for me was to build a bankroll which has taken the pressure off and means I can absorb the odd knock. This has been very relevant with my poor friday night rugger form in recent weeks.

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

Good FREE sites are difficult to find.       For soccer esp UK http://www.soccerbetting.info/       http://www.online-betting.me.uk/
and I regularly get Flo Koerner emails ..One speaks of a 10,4 % yearly yield and I suppose for most punters it's not enough .
Travel around    http://www.puntingace.com/contact.htm  an Australian site, for plenty of sports and stats.

An excellent site for footie especially if you are looking for value is Title. They are hitting around the 60% mark this season.Whats unique about these guys is that they give punts on the lower leagues of english football(League 2,CONFERENCE and even the UNIBOND,ISTHMIAN leagues ).You are usually betting at evens or better with regards to odds. They give excellent writeups and suggest how much to stake on each bet. They went 4-1 last week!AND ITS FREE!!!

Thanks for all the great info & tips!

Brent: No, I´m not from SA. I live in the UK and Sportpicks365 is not a bookie, only a site where you can buy plays (actually 4-0 last 2 days).
Regarding your rugby-bets, do you bet only on "feeling" or do you have some kind of statistical info as well?

Rogerollo: I also get Flo Koerners e-mails and he is OK, it´s not like I "fall off the chair" but he´s alright.

Moscowgomez: Thanks for the tip, I will check them out. I´ve tried out around 30 paying services and I´m only satisfied with the 2 I´ve got at the moment (Morrison & Sportpicks365.com). Anyone have any experience with another paying tipsters service? (Don´t have any good experience with the free ones, usually there is a reason why they are free...).

Hey Ryan,
I've never paid for a tipster service, always thought I could get by on own and from tips from friends, forum members, work colleagues etc. I'm possibly missing out on some good strategies by not getting involved with tipster services, but I just can never see it happening, mental block i guess! roll

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

Hi guys, my two cents worth.

I suppose if you approach sports betting like one would the share market then I'm sure there are some decent products out there that can help one find value and trends.

But as is the case with shares I feel that if you have enough info available and stick to your area of expertise then you will do fine on your own. In this case "area of expertise" is the sport/s that you are most familliar with. After 10, 20 or even more years of watching F1 grand prixs at Monaco, I think you probaly know what to expect and don't need a "tipster" to tell you that the guy on pole is far and away the favourite and that there is a high probability of many crashes and a few safety cars. The same goes I'm sure for Brent and most of us on here for the rugby. We've seen it all before and trust our knowledge of the game to help us call it right. Of course this can go horribly wrong (this weekend's rugga a case in point for me!) but sport is sport and I feel that an "upset" is part of the beauty of the game and can make any punter, tipster or product look stupid!

Of course I do see your point that for the lesser leagues and matches you could make some money, but for me personally the betting is just a way for me to put my money where my mouth is. It's easy chatting with colleagues on a Monday and saying that all your predictions that you made on Friday were correct... But it gets a whole lot more interesting if you have some money on the line!

Perhaps I'm just not a serious enough punter. I'm just a sports fan. I leave the charts, graphs and probabilites for business. This is leasure! cool1smiley

Southpaw & Couch Critic: I agree with you, I to am a genuine sportsfan. But like we said earlier in the thread, if I can get paid watching sports I might as well do it! I´m just looking around for good strategies on sports. I am a beginner at Rugby for example, does anyone have any kind of "system" or strategies for that (except friends advice, etc)?

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

Is there really noone who have some sort of bettingstrategy?
I have for example a few rules I like to follow: Never bet a favourite when the odds is worse than 11/20 (1.55 or -181).
Never bet a team with a losing streak.
Be patient, there are days when there really isn´t worth betting because the odds is to low. Wait until you find bets you really think have a good chance of winning.

Anyone else have some "betting-rules" they live by?

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

Hey RyanH

My betting rules:
- Dont bet on or against the team you support (Clouds your judgement!)
- Dont chase losses
- Set a maximum bet
- Dont bet the RL on home teams in Baseball
- Always bet on the Yankees if CC Sabatha is pitching
- Handicap Rugby games before the bookies, bet on the game with the biggest variance
- In Running Rugby bets, if the HT cap is 20pts different to opening cap. Go big on the difference! E.g. SA v Aus last weekend. SA are -8.5 before kick off, at HT SA are +12. Go big on SA+12. Usually equals cash
- Alwyas bet on the + in Finals!

Thanks CS, I´ll add that one to the list. Home advantage is really important in all sports. If you can find these "liitle" things and live by them + Morrisons system and the service of sportpicks365.com, then you should be able to build a nice bankroll....
Any other ideas?

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

Nice work on the footy RyanH!

With the rugby, no stats but its here are some examples of games recently:
Aus v NZ - Last weekend: NZ -6.5 before kick off. Aussies were 19-9 up at HT. NZ were +7.5 at HT. NZ won 23-22.
Bulls v Sharks 2 weeks ago: Sharks -1 before kick off. Sharks up 24-13 at HT. Bulls were +10 at HT. Bulls won 40-34.

More of a logic play and it works in Rugby. I was a big 2nd half Lions punter in the S14 this year and it paid off. Teams cannot sustain 80 minutes of high pace rugby so if a team is winning comfortably at HT (10+), taking the other side on the + makes sense. Not guaranteed but works more often then not.

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

Going back to betting strategy here are a few thoughts from my side (posting Piecemeal as having a problem posting in one shot):

Drive for show, putt for dough
A famous golf saying and I have a similar view on betting. Yes I love getting involved with calling fixed odds handicaps every weekend but for me my focus is on spread betting where you are rewarded the more correct you are. You are punished the more incorrect you are of course but I back myself to be very right more often than horribly wrong.

Shop around
Whether fixed odds or spreads I shop around for the best deal and I hold numerous accounts (well loaded if they are spreads companies) and make sure I buy at the lowest possible quotes and sell at the highest possible quote. The example I always use – Super 14 – 94 matches – if by shopping around you save yourself 1 unit per match on average (very realistic) then your bottom line is impacted by +R94 units or R9400 at R100 per point. It does not guarantee a profit but it does maximize your returns.

Strike on the long terms
I do have the occasional big fixed odds rugby bet on a match but generally my big fixed odds plays are long term. I find with long term bets luck etc is more likely to balance out and I have had more success in this regard. The Super 14 was a case in point as I hit the semis with 3 teams netting me decent sums and only the Tah’s as losers. My actual record against the handicap in matches was pretty poor but my long term logic was sound and I benefitted from it.

When the stars are aligned put your chips in
If I really like a bet then I put my head down and go for it. There is nothing worse for me than coming out of a weekend where my Best Bet trotted up but I still lost as others lesser fancies fell short. I am not a level stakes man, when I fancy it and the stats, form and team news back it up I strike. Sometimes I am wrong but once again I back myself to be right more often than not.

Look for bigger upsides
Let’s take the Pumas v WP game. The supremacy quote was 18-21 early in the week. The Pumas had loads of injuries and WP was close to full strength. For me the upside of buying was much greater than the potential downside. In my eyes a WP win by 10 was probably a worst case (11 points lost) and the upside turned out to be 31 points. Once again not fool proof (the Bulls v Leopards match a few weeks ago comes to mind) but this is something I take into account with spread betting. In that game for example I had a much bigger bet than usual on WP -18.5. It arrived but if WP had won by say 17 I would have taken a massive knock even though I was just wrong. With the supremacy bet the knock would have been small.
The Bulls Lions game saw me using similar logic. Stats suggested the Lions could score points at Loftus and that buying points at 24 was the value move. They only got 21 points but the loss was very manageable and I still believe the potential upside was greater than the potential downside.

Build a bankroll
I have written about this many times but the best thing I ever did was build a bankroll. I carry around 600-800 units in various accounts – if I do have a bad weekend or Friday night I don’t panic (as I used to ) but focus on the big picture and continue to bet according to my strategy confident that in the long run I will win. Without the bankroll this would not be possible. It is the single most important thing I have ever done from a punting perspective.

Stick to my sports
Yes I dabble in football and I enjoy following the odd forum play in the US sports but I stick to rugby (mainly spreads) and golf (fixed odds) which is where I have had success in the past. Golf is up and down as well but I enjoy it, rugby is my bread and butter.

Tomorrow is another day
I used to chase my losses but these days tend to look at the bigger picture. I still chase a bit but not to the point that I used to and this has helped a lot.

Burnley @ 1.70 (unfortunately the odds has dropped a bit). I really think that Burnley will run over Bristol C today. (sportpicks365 is on them as well). I´m playing all their 6 picks today, they are actually on a 16-3 run at the moment.
Then I would like to add a personal pick: Cardiff LIVE (1-1 at the moment) at home to Millwall.

Yes Fastden, I believe they are 33-31 +195 USD so far this month after really struggling in the beginning of September. However they are on a 18-4 run at the moment. I keep my own records just to see that they don´t mix their records. I tried a couple of guys at Vegastopdogs last year and they faked their records pretty good....
I noticed that Burnley had 11 shots on goal and Bristol C had 2, should habe won. Lost a lot on that one.... Fortunately Cardiff won against Millwall so I got a little back.

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

Morrisson doesn´t recommend you betting the system in September, due to the fact that most teams use players from minor leagues and that some teams are more motivated than others. I can´t recall there being a single C-bet in September.
Remember to not play the system as a "chase-system", stick to the C-bets and you´ll do superb. I´ll try to post all the C-bets for the NBA & NHL in this thread.

I´ve put money on Bournemouth @ 2.25 and Roma @ 1.95. Then Sportpicks365 has got Ipswich @ 1.80 and Atletico Madrid @ 1.85 in the madrid derby. These are my plays for the day. Anyone got a winner for today?

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

Hi RyanH

It's been a while since I have posted but a belated welcome to the forum and thanks for the tips.

With regards to paying for tipping services I have never done it before but here is a site based in the US for tipping services; www.coversexperts.com They also give free tips now and then.

As for punting ice hockey, I enjoy the NHL but over the years it has proven difficult to make money on. The "form lines" just don't seem to work.... tongue  Maybe playing the overs / unders will be easier and more successful. I have found that following certain teams helps in this regard.

For example: NJ Devils, Calgary Flames, Buffalo Sabres, NY Islanders have great goalies and solid defences and usually go under. Teams like Capitals, Red Wings, Blackhawks and Penguins have great offences and usually go over. Also I find that if a team is hot or cold then follow them cause it usually continues that way for a number of games. This is only a guide and not always perfect but it seems to work more often than not.

Hope this helps.

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

Hi Justin, Thanks for the advice regarding hockey. I also think that Over/Under is the best way to approach NHL, there are so many games in the regular season so it´s hard for a team to stay focused the entire season.
Regarding Coversexpert, I have tried Ben Burns, Matt Fargo and "Big Al" - All three made me lose money. They talked big and provided little......
The only service I´m currently paying for is Sportpicks365.com and they have made me good money. Then I also like to play the C-bets in Morrisons systems. And my own bets of course!

Well well, 3-1 yesterday. I´ll try to find some more winners for tomorrow.
Goodnight!

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

Thanks Fastden! I think Mallorca are going to run over Espanyol at home today, Mallorca is one of Spains best hometeams (except from the big clubs) and Espanyol have a worthless awayrecord.(Sportpicks365 has also got them and Cagliari +0.5).
Sportpicks365 had 3 College Football plays yesterday and went 1-2 on these. The only plays I don´t follow are their Baseballplays, they have NOT been making me money.

Well, Preston was a disappointment in midweek. I´ll try to get back to winning ways with Fiorentina @ 1.80 tomorrow, I think it´s really time for Viola to get a win.
Anyone else who have got a good bet for the weekends soccer?

Here´s Sundays winners: Palermo @ 2.25 is my play of the day. Lazio was lucky last weekend and have got a terrible awayrecord against Palermo who is "in form" again.
Sportpicks365 have got Cagliari @ 1.85 and Sporting Gijon asian hcp 0 @ 2.55.

Anyone else have got a good bet for today??

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

That Fulham pick yesterday was a very good call, I stayed a million miles from that game as Wigan are so hard to catch right, imo.

Overs in Bolton v Liverpool my preference for today m8

Was that half a million win or place on Lucky Dan....?

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

I will be diving into the Welsh premier league today. Backing The New Saints in the HT/FT market. Victor Chandler has this priced at 2.40 today. This side only know one thing, and that is to score! They do face a tough side today but when you are averaging 5 goals a game at home, then you can forgive me for siding with the home team. They currently occupy 2nd position-home record 6-0-0 GF 31 GA 5. Neath are currently 3rd with an away record that reads 2-3-1 GF 12 GA 7. Good luck with your selections  wink

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

Palermo had 10-4 in shots on goal, 61-39 possession and still lost, football isn't always fair..... Well well, I still made a profit because Sportpicks365.

I will be back with a new winning pick later this week

Best regards/

WSB has suspended the market and by the looks of it +18.5 was their best offer! RyanH, it looks as though you found a gem mate!

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

Not sure where you got the +21 Ryan? Line started at Magic  -16.5 and is up to -18.5 so money is getting down on the Magic!

Be cautious though, the Magic were supposed to play the Knicks last night but match was canned due to the roof falling apart  hmm
TWolves got blown out 129-97 by the Heat last night and may have Michael Beasley out injured for the Orlando match (He missed the 2nd half last night and is one of their starters), they lost their previous match 109-89 away Memphis. They are just plain bad on the road!!!

Magic won first home game 112-83, then lost to Miami away, they are well rested and back at home looking to get win number 2 in style!

BetX are +18 at 19/20, I wouldnt go against the Magic at home against

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

That's correct mates, Let me clarify: the line is at+18. in Morrisons system you have to buy 3 points so the spread would be +21 in this case. The odds will also be lower, 1.55 at the moment.

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

So let me get this Morrison system. You get an A, B and a C system with one side?
You buy the 3 points on Bet A so R100 makes R55 profit if wins. It Loses.
Its a chase system so you need to increase the B bet to R300 to win R165 (Less R100 lost on first bet = R65 profit), It Loses.
Now you are down R400 and in order to win you need to put R850 at 1.55 to win R467.50, less R400 lost and up R67.50!  It that loses you are down R1250 from backing a bad team??? drunksmiley  drunksmiley  drunksmiley THATS MADNESS!!!

Can see why you only play the C bets RyanH, our SA bookies dont let you buy 3 points.
Good luck tonight

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

That's correct, the A,B,C chase system is madness! 1 loss could wipe out a whole season of profit, do NOT try this. The C-Bets hits 92% (last 5 years) of the time and with the odds of 1.55 it's profitable. Only play the C-Bets!

Magic 128 Twolves 86. Dont say I didnt warn you wink

Nothing personal Ryan but I cant stand Systems in sports betting! Need to look at team news and the Twolves losing one of their starters was huge! Just feel for the poor mugs who have been on this series and lost big ammo.

Re: Recommended Sports Services/Handicappers

What a beating.... Well well, to play this system is madness (I totally agree with you Rugga) but the C-bets won 9 times last year and lost 1 in the NBA. Let's hope for something similar this year. I'll keep post the C-bets when they popup, do what you want to with them.

I'll be back with a soccer play for the weekend (no "system" plays).
