Boks v Wallabies & Currie Cup week 9

Boks v Wallabies & Currie Cup week 9

Thinking of going 1.5 units each on Boks to win by between 1 – 12, and also the 13 plus option.  Each option is paying $2.70.  Paying a bit better than the $1.28 on offer just for a Bok win, those odds are not great!  The handicap we have here is 9.5 points - what is it in SA?  I am very confident Boks will win, particularly with teh Wallabies laping it up in Umhlanga Rocks.
Don’t know why - but I have a hunch this will be a much lower scoring game than the Loftus match, just think both sides will tighten up their defences,  saying that I don’t like going low…

Re: Boks v Wallabies & Currie Cup week 9

WSB are out with hcaps
Boks -8.5 vs Aus
Griquas v Cheetahs -5.5
Leopards v Pumas -6.5
Lions v WP -6.5
Bulls v Sharks -1.5

Like the Aus + again this week - after being stiffed last week.
Pumas should be too strong for Leopards but Leopards are home and must have targeted this game.
WP wounded and Lions playing better - like Lions +
Sharks are playing good rugga and Bulls are battling - love the Sharks -

Even if the Sharks were -10.5 I would have taken that! Boys, put everything you own on the Sharks on the cap this weekend! They will klap those crap Bulls!

Also like the Pumas and Cheetahs on the minus.

Any team news that would help the Bulls cause..? I would have to agree Sharks look very appealing if not.

Was that half a million win or place on Lucky Dan....?

OK, so we are big on the Sharks at -1.5 and -1 TNB at BetX.
Also like (after being convinced by RB) the Cheetahs -5.5. Griquas got couple of injuries, Cheetahs team same as beat WP and Cheetahs got good record in Kimberley. Taken the double.

Re: Boks v Wallabies & Currie Cup week 9

Bets down for me:
Sharks win @ 17/20 with Victor Chandler - 10 units
Cheetahs -3.5 @ 9/10 with Mbet - 7.5 units
Pumas -3.5 @ 9/10 with Mbet - 7.5 units

Multiple of Cheetahs -3.5, Pumas -3.5, Sharks win, Wallabies +9.5 @ 11/1 with Mbet - 0.5 units.
Multiple of Cheetahs -3.5 and Pumas -3.5 @ 2.6/1 with Mbet - 1 unit.

Feeling very confident this week. It's usually then when I get burned, but hopefully not this weekend.

Re: Boks v Wallabies & Currie Cup week 9

Hanrick, we are aligned this week  big_smile

Sharks win - 22.22 units to win 20 units at BetX
Sharks win/Aussies +8.5 - 10 units to win 24 units at BetX
Cheetahs -3.5 - 9.5 units to win 8.5 units at Mbet
Sharks win/Aussies +9.5/Cheetahs-3.5 - 2 units to win 11 units at Mbet

Quite a big one  speechlesssmiley

The Cheetahs-3.5 in Kimberley would have arrived in each of the last 4 years! Thats a stat you cannot ignore. Cheetahs unchanged from WP win and should be confident.

Re: Boks v Wallabies & Currie Cup week 9

Currie-Cup bets this weekend.

1) 20 Units on Sharks win and Cheetahs -3.5.  ( 2.6/1 )

2) 5 Units Sharks win, and all teams on the -  (16/1)

3) 20 Units on outright win, Sharks, Cheetahs, Pumas, WP (4.2/1)

Big weekend, get a bit nervous when everyone is so confident in a game like the Sharks one, so lets hold thumbs form prevails!!

Probably going to skip betting on outcome of SA vs Aus game as i feel it coul dgo either way again, and like Brent look to the spreads where i did nicely last weekend.

Go Sharks, Cheetahs, Pumas and WP.>!!!!!!!  drunksmiley

Re: Boks v Wallabies & Currie Cup week 9

geez we're all on the Sharks, team announced looks strong, if the forwards play as well as they should then feel it's looking good for Sharks win.

My bet from earlier in week (didn't see the Betx price at time) - 20 units Sharks -1.5 @ 9/10.

Swerving on the Pumas v Leopards and Lions v WP games, think those could go either way on cap. Cheetahs seem a better bet, starting to get their act together.

Re: Boks v Wallabies & Currie Cup week 9

South here are WP's last 4 results at Ellis Park in the Currie Cup:
2009 - Lost 27-25 (Cap was Lions+6.5 that day)
2008 - Lost 27-13
2007 - Lost 19-16
2006 - Lost 42-36

Its amazing as the Lions have been mediocre in each of those years. WP just cannot play at Ellis Park? Bizarre!

Re: Boks v Wallabies & Currie Cup week 9

As with last week 2 of my stronger handicap fancies are not televised although I believe there is live internet streaming of the Cheetahs game on Supersport.

Here is the preview of Griquas v Cheetahs and Leopards v Pumas http://www.goodforthegame.co.za/rugby/c … games.html

I am offering "Grahams Guarantee" that either the price or the handicap shifts before kickoff. I am climbing into the Cheetahs -3.5 and Pumas -3.5 with Mbet.

In the live match Lions v WP I am less confident and have had a small nibble on the Lions http://www.goodforthegame.co.za/rugby/l … eview.html

Like Muzza I get a bit nervous when everyone is so united but if we are right the bookies will bleed this weekend.

Re: Boks v Wallabies & Currie Cup week 9

Watching foxsports this morning there was a story that "snor" De Villiers is going to be sacked, regardless of the result tomorrow. Causing me to have a change of heart re the Bok chances.  Think I will see what the overs and unders are and make a call on that, still think that we could be in for a relatively low scoring match.

Thanks guys for the tips on Currie Cup - have gone Cheetahs too

Re: Boks v Wallabies & Currie Cup week 9

Caught very little rugby tonight and stayed out of the spreads in the end. I needed the Pumas for a great night on the fixed odds but they only won by a point and I ended up square - alot better than recent Friday nights though  big_smile

My anniversay tomorrow so I will miss the late game but will get involved on the Tri Nations clash.

Re: Boks v Wallabies & Currie Cup week 9

Wow those Pumas cost me a great Friday start, though thank goodness they managed to sneak a victory so i atleast came out square with multiples on Cheetahs -3.5 and Pumas outright!! Probably a good thing we couldn't watch the game, as i'm sure i would have no nails left today. hmm

Otherwise debating increasing my exposure to the Sharks game as i must say that i am feeling very confident that they can indeeed win this one, though predictions have most certainly not gone the way everyone expected them so far!!

Re: Boks v Wallabies & Currie Cup week 9

was super-impressed with Lions improvement last night, some great tries. But where are the Lion fans, stadium looked a bit empty? Hopefully they'll start returning, a stronger Lions team is good for SA rugby and would be nice to see a non-SA team as the Super 15 whipping boys.

Well done Cheetahs -3.5 backers, hopefully Sharks do the business tonight!! big_smile

LOL welcome Mackem, must say the quotes are pretty high this week (shirts 62-67) - going to make a call in the next few minutes but starting to like Australia to win the game

2 units Australia to win at 3/1 and 5 units +8.5 at 1/1

4 units a pop high on Aus points at 23 - the quote fo 28 shirts a bit high for me.

Re: Boks v Wallabies & Currie Cup week 9

Shocking Boks but Aussies playing a brand of rugby I love to watch - if World Cup 2011 was in SA on our dry fields I would say "watch out" it is not though so don't see them winning.

A bit annoyed with myelf for not backing Aus shirts for smalls at least but I did feel teh quote was a bit high so will live with that.

Whatever happens hopefully the Aussies can add a few this half and Mackem that last try was very important as keeping your spread hopes alive is concerned.

The proverbial game of 2 halves but Boks were so awful that first half they have only (the coach) to blame. I agree Muzza, he should go now.

High on total match points at 55 in the Bulls v Sharks game.

Phwoar!!
Congrats Brent, nice one!!
I went with the Aussies at +9.5 @ 9/10 just before kick off, not quite as spectacular as your bets, but profit is profit I suppose  smile
Congrats once again, well played and well deserved!

Re: Boks v Wallabies & Currie Cup week 9

Never mind about having a go at DIV , instead Robbie Deans should be staring down a barrel. Once again his side tore into a massive lead ( 6 - 31 ) and nearly butchered it in the 2nd half. Not sure if it's the manner in which he is using his subs or the lack of depth he keeps sticking with, Richard Brown and Saia Faingaa wouldn't get a run on with the Griquas nor Leopards for that matter, Australia used to be lethal at finishing off teams once they were in the front and somewhere Deans has got to take responsibilty for their lack of leadership.

Re: Boks v Wallabies & Currie Cup week 9

I don't get involved in games where the Bulls are playing, because if you bet for them, they bite you and if you bet against them, they bite you as well. Have lost three times this season in Bulls games, big one in the WP vs Bulls come to mind.

Beware of the Bulls where big games are concerned, especially on Loftus. They tend to upset the apple cart.

A Champion gets up even if he can't!

Re: Boks v Wallabies & Currie Cup week 9

Coil were you reading my Tweets?

Seriously as much as a Bok win may have papered over the cracks so a Wallaby win has likley papered over theirs.

To let two big leads slip in successive weeks is criminal and having been sure he was the man upfront I now have serious doubts about Robbie Deans as the Aussie coach.

One thing I hate about rugby is how teams try and close games out by just holding onto position with a couple of minutes to play - I wish there was some way to prevent this and aside from being good for the pocket I was pleased that the Boks negativity was punished at the end.

Only saw the highlights of the Currie Cup matches tonight - I have long claimed Kockott is far too slow with his service and after that shocker of a pass my views have been reinforced - he is a liability in my view.
