Our featured match in Europe this Sunday is the Serie A clash between Genoa and Napoli. When the teams met earlier this season, Genoa were beaten out of sight but it's the goals markets rather than the match result which is the focus of this preview.
Genoa finished the last round of Serie A matches bang smack in the middle of the league table with 24 points from 19 games. Five of their seven league wins this season have arrived in front of their own supporters whilst two have been drawn and two lost. They have scored 13 goals at home and concede on average, one goal per game at the Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris. You never quite know what to expect from Genoa who haven't finished all square in any of their last 12 league outings (five wins and seven defeats). However, a trend has developed recently in Genoa's Serie A matches with each of the last five seeing backers of over 2.5 goals collect. During that sequence Genoa have won home games against Bologna (2-1) and high flying Udinese (3-2) whilst on their travels they have lost 6-1 at Napoli in the earlier meeting between these teams, 3-0 at Cagliari and most recently 5-3 at Palermo.
Napoli tore Genoa to shreds inside 25 minutes when the teams met just before Christmas, racing into a three goal lead inside 25 minutes and they were 4-1 up at half time. They have lost just one of their last 14 in all competitions although six of their last ten Serie A outings have finished all square, four of which delivered a scoreline of 1-1. Both teams have scored in each of their last five Serie A road trips including 1-1 draws at Atalanta, Sienna and Novara, all of whom are below Genoa in the league table. A 2-0 win at home to Inter in the Coppa Italia in midweek was a boost with Napoli now looking to improve on their current position of seventh on the log as well as having one eye on a Champions League date with Chelsea next month. Of nine road trips in the league, Napoli have three wins, four draws and three defeats, keeping two clean sheets and scoring at least once in seven of those away days.

The Verdict
My initial thought here was to go for 1-1 in the correct score market (around 5/1) but on seeing Genoa's recent defensive record as well as an eye-catching 3-2 home win over Udinese, I'm looking for over 2.5 goals, an outcome which took just 25 minutes to arrive when the sides last met.
Bets: Over 2.5 goals even money Ladbrokes
