Man United win and under 3.5 goals at 9/10 - had a small win on the Maties minus and rolling it all onto this game where I expect United to keep it tight but to do enough to win

A brief look at the Nedbank Cup Round of 16 matches taking place Fri/Sat/Sun, a pretty uninspiring set of fixtures, perhaps a couple of surprises on Sunday with Maritzburg and Bloem Celtic both vulnerable but I won't be at the front of the queue tbh.

Mackem has left three Saturday EPL matches and I would normally give you stats, a little logic and a suggested bet. Today the stats get replaced with my 30 game week rant. Sir Alex always maintained football was about scoring more goals than the opposition. When game week 30 clocks-up most managers of sides not yet at the "magical" 40 point mark become Mourinho's - " Remember when you run onto the park you have one point. Don't friggen lose it!!!." It's why someone like Tim Sherwood, whose view is " Football matches are there to be won" is not employed at the top level. From a punting perspective I tend to bet smaller stakes when two of these sides meet at this time of the year.

Everton v Brighton + Hove Albion
Both teams on 34 points and Allardyce and Houghton would certainly take the draw rather than risk the defeat so the draw or only separated by a single goal. Prefer the draw odds
Draw @ 9/4
Not a match I would watch live but if its your choice have a beer on
ATGS Coleman @ 11/1

Huddersfield v Swansea
Both teams on 30 points but I think Carvalhal at Swansea might just be more of a Sir Alex type manager. Before Carvalhal Swansea from 20 EPL matches scored 11 goals and since 9 EPL matches with 14 goals. Like the odds on
Swansea over 1.5 goals @ 22/10

West Ham United v Burnley
West Ham on 30 points but Burnley have reached the magical 40 mark. Moyes at West Ham is a defensive manager but I think Dyche may go for the rest of this seasons games which gives me hope for the very attractive odds on
Match bet and Total goals Burnley and over 2.5 goals @ 11/2

WS Wanderers vs Wellington Phoenix

Phoenix are rock bottom and have only mathematical chances to catch a play-off spot.
However, considering their recent results and their position on the ladder, that is an unrealistic target.
This side has been too poor to keep up with the other teams.
They now have a new coach, brought in as replacement from their youth squad.

The Wanderers drew at home to Perth last week, and they maintain themselves on the last play-off spot, however far from assured.

They will have to make up for the lost points and beat this Wellington side who despite having quite a few quality players, they disappointed.

Their last encounter was one month ago in Sydney, the Wanderers winning 4-0.

Bet: Wanderers (-0.75) AH @1.93 Pinnacle

Perth Glory vs CC Mariners

Glory will be without Castro, but they get other two players back and Kilkenny has proven a great addition to the central midfield.
Last week they drew away at Wanderers and before that they beat Melbourne City at home.
They are in the fight for the last play-off spot and are in with good chances.

The Mariners beat Wellington Phoenix in the basement derby, and their chances to a play-off spot are minimal.

Glory are in good form and showed great spirit and now have a great chance to add 3 more points to their tally.

Bet 1: Perth win @2.14
Bet 2: Perth over 1.5 goals @1.85
