Afternoon All.

Some cracking Rugby this weekend with Champions and Challenge cups resuming.

Challenge cup caps usually come out very late but there are some Champions Cup games with Caps out already.

Naturally with any of these matches you should wait for team sheets before you pull the trigger as various teams have already lost their opening 2 fixtures and may have more of an interest in targeting their domestic leagues this season.

Opening caps at Betx are as follows.

Edinburgh -6,5 v Newcastle
Scarlets -8,5 v Ulster.
Lyon -1,5 v Glasgow
Exeter -11,5 v Gloucester
Toulon +1,5 v Montpellier
Bath +12,5 v Leinster
Wasps -2,5 v Toulouse
Sarries -20,5 v Cardiff
Racing -17,5 v Leicester
Munster -17,5 v Castres

Everything is going to be OK ;)

Interesting to note the Edinburgh v New castle game opened at Edinburgh -6.5, I see it is up to -11.5 in some places.

I assume the reason is as a result of the few injuries to the falcons and this headline:

Edinburgh Head Coach Richard Cockerill has welcomed back ten internationalists to his starting XV for tomorrow night’s pivotal Heineken Champions Cup encounter with Newcastle Falcons at BT Murrayfield

Teams:
edinburghrugby.org/news/18/12/06/news-sc...rn-falcons-encounter

www.newcastlefalcons.co.uk/news/story/Te...de-to-face-Edinburgh

Still think Falcons will keep it relatively close so will wait for the handicap to settle and take best plus available.

I was lucky enough to get Edinburgh -7, as teams were being announced.
Newcastle have not named a strong team.

The other plus I fancy is Ulster who I can see coming away with at least a BP , Scarlets and Ulster have both pretty much named their strongest sides available. Deciding factor for me was Scarlets form, any side who loses to a 14 man Glasgow side is not going to get my backing.

Everything is going to be OK ;)

Munster -17.5 my standout of weekend.

Tough pool, they need a 5 pointer to ensure they don’t let other quality sides catch them. Castres captain out injured apparently, they’ve had 2 really poor games on the spin in France, and they simply don’t score enough points to trouble an in form Munster.

You've certainly got the value there - Newcastle team very weak, appears to me they're prepared to throw the game and concentrate on the return leg next week.
Hearing also they may not be able to field a Tight Head, as such may well be 14 vs 15 and uncontested scrums.

Happy with the Edinburgh 13+ @ evens I got on yesterday

Champions Cup lineups here:
www.epcrugby.com/champions-cup/matches/line-ups/

Castres team looks decent on paper but, like South, I favour the Munster minus.
Have put this in a double with Racing minus -17, as reckon they'll destroy Leicester

Not too much interests me in the Saturday games at this point, with exception of Toulouse +2 vs Wasps.
Wasps defence very poor and rumours of a few of their better players leaving (Le Roux, Daley, Hughes) not good for morale.

And just a note on Scarlets v Ulster tonight - it's supposed to be dry but with winds up to 50mph.
Points line is 40.5 which I have no real feeling on.

Hi Gents.

OK some of these may have moved but this is what I have gone with, waiting for the Challenge cup caps to come out here. A few I fancy there but laters with those.

Leinster -13
Toulouse +1,5
Toulon +1,5
Glasgow +2,5
Sarries -21
Racing -16,5
All singles.
In my opinion the team sheets support those punts.

Everything is going to be OK ;)

With regard to the Edinburgh v Newcastle match...nearly 90% chance of rain so it's something to take into account...I'm circling on the 2nd half handicap of -7.5 but might just wait to see how bad the weather is..

It's minus 20 in Krasnoyarsk so I'm going Under 49.5 points in the Ensey v Zebre game....probably wrong but don't trust either side to pile on points...

I stand to be corrected Thrasher but I'm not certain they're playing in Krasnoyarsk , minus 20 heavens above .

Giving back a lot of well earned sevens money on the 15 man stuff this weekend , went low in Exeter game and backed Montpellier as well as having a nibble on Bristol plus 10.5 , so 3/3 losers so far . Like the look though of unders in Wasps game. Conditions are ok , but feel Wasps will be up for this and hoping for a defensive effort from both teams . However form is woeful and hoping I don't get the wooden spoon .

There's a definite market move towards overs in the Saracens/Cardiff match. Still a bit of 54.5 about...

Think it’s been a great game so far to watch, Racing are playing superb and I’m on them on outright tournament from pre-season, backed them last season as well when they were unlucky.

Munster minus cruises in, my main and only other interest in rugby all weekend. Castres will get turned over at home next week in my view.
