AUSTRALIA 10/1 with Sunbet (taken e/w to include 33/10 to make final).

Beat All Blacks recently, apparently 11 players from last big u20 tournament and Aus rugby union been really pushing hard on junior front to get the badly needed next generation to come through.

Just confirming that Australia are 2019 Oceania Champions.
Not just a win, a convincing win v NZ

Australia 24–0 New Zealand Bond University, Gold Coast

No idea why Baby Blacks are favourites. Only three Super Rugby Players in squad.

It appears England should be favourites for this tournament.
Squad has been upgraded from U20 Six Nations Team with Premiership Players

They have far more professional than other teams.
Also note easy win over Baby Boks 35-8 in a warm up match.

England men U20s head coach Steve Bates has named his 28-player squad for the 2019 World Rugby U20 Championship in Argentina (4-22 June).

The group includes nine players who have appeared in the tournament before – including several from Gallagher Premiership Rugby – with props Joe Heyes, Marcus Street, lock Joel Kpoku, backrow forwards Josh Basham, Ted Hill, Aaron Hinkley, Tom Willis, fly half Marcus Smith and centre Fraser Dingwall all named in the squad.

Street was part of the England squad who reached the 2017 final in Georgia, losing to New Zealand, while the others played in last year’s final against France.

The cities of Rosario and Santa Fe will play host to 30 matches played over five match days across three venues.

The 12 participating nations have been drawn in three pools of four teams, based on rankings from the 2018 edition.

Pool B sees 2018 runners-up England face Ireland (4 June), Italy (8 June) and Australia (12 June).
The knockout stages are on Monday, 17 June with finals day on Saturday, 22 June.

England, who have won the competition three times, last lifted the Championship in 2016.

The tournament is a proven pathway to the top with a total of 653 players worldwide having graduated from the U20 Championship to play Test rugby since New Zealand won the inaugural title in 2008.

Worcester flanker Hill was England’s latest graduate having played in the tournament last year, then making his senior international debut five months later against Japan.

In total 44 players have graduated through the tournament to play for England.

Steve Bates said: “Choosing 28 players from the 45 we have capped this season has been incredibly tough so it’s a pretty good achievement for these players to be selected for the tournament and they should be incredibly proud of their inclusion.

“The U20 Championship gives them a chance to pit themselves against the best players in the world at their own age group in an international competition before heading into senior rugby, so is an important stage in their development.

“For a lot of these players it will be a unique experience to go to Argentina and play in a tournament of this stature and I know they will be relishing the challenge. They are very lucky to be representing England and will be looking to do their country proud and continue our successful history in the competition.

“We were slightly disappointed with our consistency during the Six Nations and we know we have a lot of work to do, but we have a very good and experienced group of players and if we can keep them fit then we feel we are going to be very competitive in Argentina.”

Ireland will be 2-3 key players such as Penny and Byrne - massive blow
France kept 8 players from last year victory (Gros, Carbonel ,Joseph, Leble,,) and 8 Toulon players who became France Champion recently.
England seems to have the strongest squad and are definitely favourite

This is the result from the U20 Oceania tournament (Fiji, Aus and NZ playing)

With you on this with one Brent, 2.5 out of 5 Aussie to beat the line. Any team that beats NZ by 24 should pi** on Italy. Plus they have released max super 12 players.

Line here on SA v Scotland is -19.5. Seems like way too much. Please advise your view on politically selected baby boks in this game.

Cheers m8

From the "Action" button click the dropdown arrow and select "Quote".

Then type. It should show the quoted text like here or like any other poster's.

A loss for me on day 1 with England going belly up.

The Irish were certainly up for that although I felt Englands two yellows were harsh albeit technically correct in terms of how the high tackle laws are applied.

I reckon a team of vertically challenged individuals would be unbeatable at RWC

A few points
Australia defense was excellent and they were clinical on attack but their set piece was awful and they may battle against a better side - Italy dominated large parts of that match

Baby Boks were not great I don't think, some poor decision making and I don't think Scotland are very strong

Georgia have really improved and can cause an upset

England are not as bad as the scoreline against Ireland suggests but in this group and this format they will battle to qualify

Will do a video preview for the next round

Adding few points to Brent’s comment:

Agree with you on Australia, will add that their scrum was quite weak
Argentina has a fantastic full back and a strong third row but sometimes forget to play with the brain and waste many opportunities
Wales has a decent kicker and will fire every single penalties but not impressed by their offensive skills and quite few missed tackles.

Hanrick, Brent
I reckon you watched the Irish game – would you mind telling us how was Flannery at flyhalf as he is normally playing fullback and that was a strange move as Healy was available – thanks in advance.

Next Round with my predictions

RSA (-25.5) v Geo (Racecourse)
Aus (-2.5) v Ire (Inmaculada)
Fra (-12.5) v Wal (Racecourse)
Arg (-19.5) v Fij (Inmaculada)
NZ (-25.5) v Sco (Racecourse)
Eng (-20.5) v Ita (Inmaculada)

Racecourse is a synthetic pitch – was not sure yesterday but it is the case.

My day would have been great if the pom's didn't blunder against the irish...
Had a 6 accumulator and a lucky treble, got wales at 2.4 and was more than happy with those odds seeing that I felt the Arg team wasn't so much more superior than the little Dragons...
Arg made costly knock-ons at crucial times in the game which costs them and Wales were kept in the game by a talented boot.

Surprisingly the baby boks should have had an even bigger scoreline if it wasn't for 2 knock-ons in the game with a nearly open try-line, Scotts are worse than I thought.

France got an 1st half scare but in the end proved too good for the boys from beautiful Fiji.

Looking forward to this weekends games.....Onwards an Upwards...
