An absolute beast - that stage went very differently to what I expected - I often fall into the trap ahead of a big stage like they have on the cards tomorrow.

Stage 6 preview will be up in the morning as have some poker to play tonight

Laptop has crashed and live in sticks - replacement due late next week so only occasional bets for a week. Could not pick a winner from a 14 man break yesterday so probably just as well. Borrowing one from Hanrick - Sprint stage The Lab Rat is back

Hi guys. Back from my trip and just here to boast a bit.

We were at the Atomium last monday and did Brussels the wednesday. What a thrill to see them put up the banners and stages and media trucks for the Tour and then watch the start on the television.
Glad we got out before things picked up though, because those places are crazy enough as it is. :P

Dont know if i'll get onto some TDF betting, but damn glad i'm back for the Open next week.

Stage 8 Nils Politt at 50/1 my main pick. Reckon this guy goes close over one of these next few stages although hoping his great effort on Stage 6 didn't take too much out of him. Mohoric the back up at 33/1

Going for a 2 unit 18/10 Matchbet double at Sunbet

Schachmann/Lutsenko 7/10 - I don't think Astana rider gets into the break but expect Shachmann to - if they both make it (or if neither do) it could go either way

Benoot/Wellens 13/20 - feel Benoot has targeted this stage and while Wellens may be in break for KOM points he has started to look tired.

Nice preview Brent.

This stage has break written all over it but the race is actually in a very interesting place right now. Reckon we could see a real battle for the break as I doubt the real GC guys will be keen on giving Ala P or Ciccone much more time and as such they won't be allowed into a break. Trek and QS in turn are solid teams and they won't be letting anyone who could threaten yellow get away. As such things could get really fun at the start and ito predicting the winner I reckon it should be from a bunch of guys well out of the overall running.

Looking at the overall by my reasoning I could thus start picking winners from Vuillermoz who is around the 30th position. (I also agree that Ag2R will have to let their lads off the leash so a nice pick there BG). WVA, Schachmann, Mohoric and Benoot all deserve to be high up on the boards for mind. But this is the type of stage where I like to go for a few bigger priced guys.

I reckon you need to almost TT away from your fellow breakaways up or down one of the climbs or alternatively have the legs to stay with them over all the climbing and then have the pace and power to beat them to the line. So here goes:

Michael Valgren @ 44/1 (Nothing like having an Amstel Gold Race winner in your ranks. Take him to the finish at your peril).

LLS @ 80/1 (Attack up a climb and then pull away on the descent).

Rohan Dennis @ 129/1 (No one will have to remain on Nibali duty any longer and I'm hoping RD won't just be waiting for the ITT for the next week - stretch your legs son!)

Simon Geschke @ 160/1(GVA might save the powder for tomorrow and Geschke could out-climb his break partners).

Gorka Izagirre @ 199/1 (Same as LLS)

Tom Skuijns @ 259/1 (Trek might look to lessen the pressure on themselves by stashing someone in the break)

Ivan Garcia Cortina @ 269/1(Same as Dennis - Bahrain to chase stages)

A very enjoyable tour so far but no sign of profits at this point (-13 units at this point). Stage 9 looks another tough one to call - here are my stage win bets and once again going with some big prices

0.5u Skujins 100/1 Sunbet

adding 2 units Matthews/Sagan 15/0 WSB

What a ride from TdG, needless to say had nothing on him :)

As Brent mentioned giving Politt another chance on Sunday, 80/1 now with WSB. Then adding Eddie Bos at 33/1, GvA at 22/1

Finally Rui Costa at 40/1. Costa has been on the attack so appears to have license from his team to try and pick up a stage and he has also been known to miss a turn or 2 at the front so if he is there at business end that tactic could come in handy. :cheer:

Stage 12, short list comprised of about 50 riders :)

Chopped it down to these 3.

Tiesj Benoot - 22/1, think he could still be Lotto's best hope for KoM though they not short of options.
Wilco Kelderman 50/1 - Sunweb trying anything they can for a stage win now, way back on GC so a breakaway contender
Marc Soler 40/1 - Thinking Movi will keep Ineos on their toes with a man up the road but in the end won't chase break down so he could be allowed to go for a stage, hoping Soler is the man though they have other candidates.

I may be missing something big time and on current form probably am. I can't have Van Art at those odds considering it's the first Grand tour he is riding and having 12 days of riding.

I like the following 2 at decent odds.
Lampert @ 25/1
Haga @ 25/1

And both to place at 4/1

I may be off the mark but this will at least give me an interest.
