Justin Snaith’s comments on his runners for the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate Racing Festival:

*FRIDAY:*
Lady Quin (1): Was very green on debut and will need to improve.

Trickster (1): Smart sort and will go close on debut. Worth an each way bet. Has Thumbs Up to beat.

Bengal Crimson (2): Expected to be green on debut.

Parktown (2): Great form and will be the horse to beat.

Tambora (2): He is doing great back home and has upset potential.

Double Reward (3): Had excuses last time out. Include in pick 6.

Halliberry (3): Will love the course and distance. Must be respected.

Over Count (3): She will love the trip. Include in all bets.

Stars In Her Eyes (3): Keeps improving. Include in pick 6.

Amy Johnson (4): If she repeats her penultimate she will have a chance. Good each way value at 10-1.

Dark Crystal (4): Disappointing last time out and needs to improve.

Fleeced (4): In top form and must be included in exotics.

Phil's Dancer (4): Nicely weighted and has upset potential.

Queen Of Quiet (4): Smart sort and will go well. Very open race.

Casino Queen (5): Very well weighted and must be included.

Dynamic Diana (5): Run against stronger and loves this course and distance.

Esteemal (5): Big step up in class.

Star Of Silver (5): Good last win but does face a lot stronger.

Fortune Flies (6): Brilliant win last time out. Can upset.

Madonna (6): Disappointing of late and needs to improve.

Sleeping Single (6): At her very best and will run a massive race. Worth an each way bet. Kelpie the biggest danger.

Casual Diamond (7): Fair form but faces far stronger. Celtic Sea will be hard to beat.

Miss Florida (7): Fair last run but this field may be a little tough for her.

Camp David (8): He is back to his best and must be included.

Hurricane Harry (8): Great last run. Will go well again.

Ladder Man (8): Loves this trip and is doing great.

Pinkerton (8): Had excuses last time out and will return to his best. Worth an each way bet.

Tango With Tigers (8): This is a very tough field and he will need to improve.

*SATURDAY:*

Cyber Blossom (1): Running consistently. Place chance.

Lilac Sensation (1): Rested and has improved. Will take some beating.

Snowdrops (1): Has to improve considerably to feature.

Erik The Red (2): Ignore debut. Will go much better. Good value and worth a bet. Has Thomas Henry to beat.

Stuck On You (2): Great form but does take on the boys. Will be in the money again.

Trippin The Stars (2): Has done fairly well in gallops. Place chance on debut.

August Leaves (3): Fair form. Can run into the money.

Flowerscape (3): In great form and should be in the shakeup again.

Half And Half (3): Far better than his form suggests. Awesome value and PA banker. Worth an each way bet.

Silver Sky (3): Improved last time out. Include for quartets.

Kasimir (4): Champion and reasonably fit despite a long rest. Pacific Trader his danger.

Belgarion (5): VERY decent horse and will be the one to beat.

Nexus (5): Impressive latest win. Must be included if one doesn’t banker Belgarion.

Miyabi Gold (6): Front and Centre is going to take some beating but on her Durban July run she could cause a major upset. Doing great at home.

Platinum Class (6): Hasn’t quite found her form. Prefers going a little softer.

Silvano's Pride (6): Needs to improve on her last run but a GR.1 winner and will hold her own.

Crown Towers (7): Pacemaker

Do It Again (7): The Horse of the Year is coming back to his best after a cough. If he returns to his best then he’s always the one to beat. He will be back to his best for the Sun Met but his class could carry him through.

Doublemint (8): Banker.

Strathdon (8): Top stayer but may find his stable companion tough to beat.

Swift Surprise (8): Nicely weighted but does take on his strongest opposition to date.

Bayberry (9): Top sort and could win at the weights. Badly drawn and will need some luck. Good value.

Frank Lloyd Wright (9): Loves the trip. Include in pick 6.

Rio Querari (9): God severely penalised last time out and will find it tough at the weights.

Savvy (9): 7kg better off with Rio and if overcomes draw he could upset.

Captain's Darling (10): Filly takes on the boys but has decent and consistent form.

Mister Vargus (10): Great last effort and must be included. Mr Cobbs looks the one to beat.

Candice Bass Robinson Runners:
Race 1 - Bad Habit: Back in a 1000m and hoping to open the day with a bang. Good winning chance.
Race 3 - Nixon: If the firm going does not effect him too much, he may have a fair place chance in a
competitive handicap.
Race 4- Catkin: The 1000m is a little on the sharp side for him, so this is a prep run for an up and coming
1400m, but he never runs a bad race and can’t be discounted.
Race 4 - Constable: Tough race for him being the only three year old taking on these top older horses,
but hoping he can make a name for himself.
Race 4 - What A Winner: Back over his best trip, and hoping for a big run.
Race 5 - Majestic Mozart: Good Each way chance at the weights, but the draw will make it a tough ask.
Race 5 - More Magic: Best weighted horse in the race and can win this if he can get some luck from the
draw.
Race 5 - Sovereign Spirit: Money Chance over a better trip, but he too has a poor draw to overcome.
Race 6 - Drama Queen: Bad draw but has ability. Money Chance.
Race 6 - Santa Clara: Good chance of a top 3 run.
Race 9 - Meraki: Exceptionally well at the moment, Must be a big runner here.
Race 10 - Mr Cobbs: Good Each Way Chance.
Race 10 - Outoftheordinary: If he repeats his last run he could make the frame.

Pride, Queen Supreme and Drama Queen.

time. Lead by the SA champion Hawaam, and includes the dual July winner Do It Again, recent Green-Point
stakes winner Vardy and last years Met winner Rainbow Bridge Together this top field has won more than
60 races between them and will be an absolute humdinger of a race.

Hawwaam looks tough to beat today, the main danger i feel is Rainbow Bridge, think he was a touch unlucky last time out and yard looks like about to hit some good form.

Gone Hawwaam / Rainbow Bridge boxed exacta.

Later in the card my best ew value bet of day - PATH OF CHOICE in race 9, 12/1 ew. Course/distance suited and low mass with jock keeping ride and likely needing to have kept his weight down all week to make the mass, hopefully not all in vein.

Looking around for other value -

Actually think NEXUS race 5 could be biggest danger to favourite stablemate. Impressive last time out and Smanga riding well of late. 9/1 ew for me.

Following South with Nexus, battled to find any straight win bets but quite like Meraki in Race 9 at around 10/1. Ran behind Nexus last time out when drawn 11 of 11.

throwing one more bet down today -

R8 Princess Irene 20/1 ew. Needs this extra and came good this time last year, not exactly a bunch of superstars this field, maybe could make the boys run.

Can't do any sort of damage at this price.
