Look forward to the cycling although must confess I haven't looked at the times yet

Remco 12/1 for the road race doubled into MVDP 1/1 for the Mountain Boke - works out to 25/1

Thinking of a forum betting comp for the Olympics - will give some thought and post details tonight

This video preview from Cycling Mole gives you a great feel for how tough this course is - especially that final climb

nice, love betting on Olympics, bookies often fast asleep. Caught Simbine @ 8/1 i think for Commonwealth 100m gold a few years ago, sniffing around for some other value. No crowd might throw up some upsets, some athletes will struggle to get fired up as normal.

Early double @ Hollywoodbets -

100m womens - Elaine Thompson
200m womens - Gabby Thomas

double @ 6.3/1

Thompson peaking at perfect time, had injuries but seems to be all clear now.

Thomas purely there for 200m whereas market rivals mostly doing the 100m, and with all the rounds going to final, Thomas should be fresher.

Thanks Chris for sorting out my account, apologies for my "arrogant " username but for some reason the system didn't like the Grootlem username. I will try give my opinion on cycling bets, I have one or 2 people in Tokyo

Olympic Road Race
Will miss the first half owing to the 04h00 start here. Never know what will happen in this type of race where half the riders will probably not finish. Top four on the boards look the pick - some doubt for me on Pogacar as I don't believe he handles the type of humid heat expected very well (Same goes for Wood)

Win
Valverde @ 21/1 (Placed with money back if non starter with rumoured Covid in camp)
S Yates @ 28/1
e/w
Nibali @ 46/1
1-3
de Bod @ 154/1

Going to take out right on the old guys. They have more caps then Brent has yellow caps, joints may not be that great - kinda like mine are now after being plastered by Jan Ellis in the Northern Cape all those years ago - but they have the skills and won't be terrified by Covid like the Aussies.

Reckon Roglic the pick of the favs (no longer as bullish on Remco) but tgis race will be tough to control and not impossible a strong counterbreak gets clear on the long climb and with small teams stays away

Small stakes on

Gaudu 40
Bachmann 125
I izigirre 125
Thomas and Porte at 150/1

Women's Football

New Zealand vs USA

USA are the World Champions and they were thumped 0-3 by Sweden, another powerhouse in Women's football.
They are now playing New Zealand and they must recover. New Zealand are just an average team, and they lost 1-2 to Australia in the first game, but the score doesn't reflect the difference on the park.

Football
Australia vs Spain

After Australia beat Argentina 2-0 in the first round, their morale is riding high.
Spain drew 0-0 against Egypt and they will be coming out guns blazing, so I expect them to score.
Aussie youngsters created several clear chances against Argentina, including hitting the crossbar, so I expect them to try to win tonight. They showed guts and skill against Argentina, I expect them to show the same against Spain.

Hi Cyclingexpert,

I see Duffy is 4th favourite for a medal.

I am interested to know why you think she is a stonewall certainty?

Cheers.

Dizzle
