The amount of live rugby coming up this weekend is almost intimidating as the Rugby Champs, NPC and Gallagher Prem continue with the United Rugby Championship getting started

A quick recap on last weekend where the Newsletter best Bet Worcester win at 8./10 came home smoking as did our 13/1 acca which kicked off with a straight win on Taranaki at 13/10. Full credit to Thoughts on Sports and Hanrick for their confidence on Thursday nights THE HANDICAP show - don't miss the live show this week it is going to be jam packed

Here is the link to subscribe to the free weekly Goodforthegame betting mailer bit.ly/bettingmail - join us in the never ending battle against the bookies

Rugby Championship
Handicaps are out but I managed to do mine before seeing the lines - mine first and the bookies in brackets

New Zealand -14.5 v SA (-11.5)
Australia -12.5 v Argentina (-8.5)

I expect both lines to move out

United Rugby Championship
This is going to be very interesting and I know many punters are gagging for the opening lines. I am not going to try and project them but will be ready to fire if I see value and if you fancy anything strong back it first and then share on the forum.

Looking at SA teams action we have

Zebre v Lions
Benetton v Stormers
Leinster v Bulls
Munster v Sharks

There are also big clashes in the GPR and the NPC and your contributions to this great forum are much appreciated

Don’t miss our live rugby betting show THE HANDICAP “Rugby chat that matters” on Thursday night 21h00 SA time – Here is the link to view the Goodforthegame You Tube Channel www.youtube.com/c/GoodforthegameTV/videos

My my have times have changed! Taking a look at the teams in the URC and its a bit of a concern to see the Bulls as SA's premier team trading at 18/1 to win the tournament. Is the strength up North more powerful than the NZ super teams? I cannot recall the dominant SA side in Super Rugby being priced up as virtual no-hopers ever.

I am thinking that there may be some opportunities in this tournament.

As you go through life it’s a long, long road. There’ll be joys and sorrows too

Totally agree, should be some massive opportunities this tournament. I think the odds reflect that the SA teams effectively have no Bok squad members to call upon until after the end of year tour, whereas other sides are free to select from start.

Then when six nations hits the NH sides don’t play any SA sides until after final round of six nations. So it does stack the odds massively against SA sides unfortunately.

But it’s from April onwards when things level up a bit. This is where I think SA sides will finish tournament strong, lots of home fixtures, NH sides playing in conditions not used too. Bok players I believe then available?

Something like Bulls and Sharks to make playoffs appeals, and for an SA interest would lean towards Bulls for outright rather than regular season at big odds.

Would also think that even though away this weekend it must be a massive boost for SA sides to play in front of a crowd again. Mentally must be worth something, even if an away crowd.

The Bulls crashed against that Italian team Benetton in the final earlier.
The Cheetahs also were dismal on their North trips in the Pro comp
It's a,matter of how many away wins these Bulls can muster.
Leinster and Munster and Glasgow are gonna run over our Lions here,so exciting rugger coming up.....better than the the Kings garbage.

Books (Betfair/PP in Europe) finally out with URC caps

Zebre -3 v Lions
Cardiff -3 v Connacht
Ulster -12 v Glasgow
Benetton -5 v Stormers
Leinster -25 v Bulls
Edinburgh -3 v Scarlets
Munster -27 v Sharks
Dragon v Ospreys choice

First thoughts:
Have Bulls & Sharks sent weakened squads? Or are they not expected to be competitive??
And I like the Cardiff minus - I went to their final warm up game vs Bath and they looked sharp

I was predicting bulls plus 12.5. Got a big fright when I saw 25.5! Hopefully this bulls team go with a nothing to lose mindset! Still think they wil win everyone at Loftus! Might be the way to make money!

Zebre defence vs Lions attack..
Zebre and Benetton outright wins!
(bulls overs) might get something like 13.5?

Will be interesting!

I don't care how good Leinster and Munster are, Bulls are not 25 points underdogs and Sharks not 27 points underdogs. Like both plusses, especially Bulls.

Zebre v Lions - over 51.5 @ 5/6

Both sides have suspect defence, conditions perfect, expecting points in this one.

Also going Warriors o2.5 tries @1.96 on Sportsbet against the quins

Wallabies win/over 48.5 points @2.10 on Sportsbet

Also like the Wallabies over 3.5 tries mentioned on the show - however taking a unit off all my Wallabies bets been burned too many times when they're expected to show up. Starting to believe in the Wallabies again makes me feel like I'm going back to a toxic ex for the umpteenth time
