World T20 Cricket Outrights & All Matches was created by mackem
World T20 starts Sunday with the qualifiers. We will preview all matches from Super 12 onwards and any outright tips, qualifying matches and the tournament proper are most welcome.

In the warm ups Oman played 2 games against Sri Lanka at the same ground as today's match and managed to hit 7 & 9 sixes.

A few pointers for the World T20.
The three grounds being used hosted the 2020 IPL and half the 2021 IPL. Surprisingly bowling stats are Pace/Spin wickets - 667/298. We are starting to get dew in the day/night matches and, in the recently completed 2021 IPL 16 of the 23 day/night matches were won by the side batting second. This has to be tempered with the fact that the Indians prefer run chases. Don't need to look any further then their attitude at the Gabba a while ago. They love a good run chase. I still think the dew will be worse during this tournament and sides will favour chasing in the day/night matches.
Sri Lanka came through qualifying without braking into a sweat. They play four of their five matches in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi where they played qualifying.. They have two day matches - SA/Bangladesh- and the three night matches. Win a few of those night match tosses and their odds look too good.

Australia v South Africa
Hard to determine why Australia are the favorites here. Possibly Abu Dhabi is the biggest venue and should offer the best batting conditions?. They were not at the races in their warm-up against India and were rolled comfortably with Sharma retiring after scoring enough. SA on the other hand have won their last seven T20's. Keeping a few bob in hand as I may take a run at SA.

We have seen a 118/9 and a 55/10 at the two grounds where batting is easier. Today we are in Sharjah where the batting gets tough. Have to take a run at that total. Hasaranga made 71 in his only visit to the crease in qualifying and he can bowl. Bangladesh should take Sri Lanka deep enough for him to get another bat.

So Bangladesh equal the highest score set in 13 matches on the newly laid Sharjah wicket. Made the half time recovery bet easy. No way Sri Lanka make that. As a much poorer and slightly wiser punter decided to spend today's moola on an outright.
Hetmyer played the No 6 slogging role for DC in the recent IPL where he averaged a respectable 34.6. Looks like he will be the Windies No 4 for this tournament. Lewis opened for RR and averaged 30.2 in the IPL. He is currently the shortest in the Windies runs market at 5/2
I think Gayle is past his sell by date - these wickets will not suit Simmons and Pollard looks like he is going to bat way down the order and Chase is watching from the stands.

West Indies on the same ground they got bowled out for 55 the other day, 6 of those wickets from the spinners.

South Africa v Windies
Not sure what to make of the wicket in Dubai. We have a Windies collapse where spin ruled and a Pakistan coast where 6 of 7 wickets went to the quicks. The one similarity between today's protagonists is they are capable of losing a shed load of wickets in 20 overs so that's where I'm going

Pakistan v Afghanistan
Leaning towards spin today as they seem to go OK in Dubai. Hoping Pakistan try to "see-off" R Kahn so going with second option. S Kahn has not looked any where near his top form for Pakistan for almost two years now.

Yeah Couch - Close but no cookie.
As everyone knows I lose virtually every low odds cricket punt so why keep trying? - They just look so good up front.
At this ground Namibia ran into the Sri Lankan spin bowlers Hasaranga and Theekshana. The pair took 5 sticks for very little runs and Namibia registered one duck and seven other scores under 10. Today's pairing of Ur Rahman and Rashid are a more difficult prospect. Between them they bundled out Scotland with five ducks.

Lost my short odds bet AGAIN when Afghanistan went with one spinner. Do I give up - Never.

We are at Sharjah today where Sri Lanka have played twice racking up 19 and 16 boundaries. England's first visit here but they restricted Bangladesh to 12 boundaries a few days ago. I believe Sri Lanka are a boundary or two better then Bangladesh

SA v Bangladesh
Mills gave Bangladesh the most problems at this ground earlier and SA were not comfortable against Aussie pace. Two quicks for me. Here is a fact and you may make of it what you wish. At this ground SA managed 118/9 against the Aussies who were subsequently creamed by a much better England side. At this ground Bangladesh made 124/9 against that England side therefor Bangladesh should be slight favorites here.

Hasaranga is the new number 1 T20 bowler in the world and is one of the leading wicket takers in this tournament. He has taken 2 wickets against Australia and 3 wickets each against both SA and England. Think the West Indies are much worse than all 3 of these sides and their batsmen will struggle against him. Sunbet has him priced at 19/20 so there is def value in him at Sportingbet.
