My weekend got off to a horror start and I hit rock bottom with the Newsletter Best Bet of Blues over 27.5 (sorry lads I am on a terrible run there)

I then took a tilt bet at Cheetahs over 4.5 tries and over 56.5 points in Bloem only to see umbrellas when they crossed over. The game started well though with 3 quick Cheetahs tries but when they went off for lightening I thought the betting gods were toying with me. Thankfully they came back and the bets arrived with ease to pull me square. I then followed TOS 2 forum bets on Munster overs and Exeter -1.5 to finish up something which had looked highly unlikely

Loads of rugby this weekend including 6 Nations and overseas teams finally playing some rugby in SA

Here are the current 6 Nations lines

Wales +10.5 v France
Italy +18.5 v Scotland
England +1.5 v Ireland

Here are the URC games featuring SA teams with my handicap projections (these come with a warning, no real feel here)

Sharks -12.5 v Scarlets
Bulls -7.5 v Munster
Lions -4.5 v Cardiff
Stormers -25.5 v Zebre

Here are my Super Rugby Pacific handicap projections

Blues -8.5 v Highlanders
Rebels +9.5 v Brumbies
Hurricanes -24.5 v Moana Pasifika
Crusaders -9.5 v Chiefs
Reds -23.5 v Fiji
Waratahs -4.5 v Force

There is also Gallagher Premiership action

Super Rugby opening lines are out at WSB

Within a couple of points of mine on all of them but a big difference on the Rebels line - think this may be my error though - WSB caps on home team in brackets

Blues -8.5 v Highlanders (-10.5)
Rebels +9.5 v Brumbies (+17.5)
Hurricanes -24.5 v Moana Pasifika (-24.5)
Crusaders -9.5 v Chiefs (-7.5)
Reds -23.5 v Fiji (-22.5)
Waratahs -4.5 v Force (-2.5)

I don't think the Rebels line is an error. They are woeful and that line is correct imo, if not too low.

Moana have played just one game and shown more than Rebels in 3. I would have it a choice match when they meet late April. On that alone -

Rebels to finish bottom @ 7/2

South - Is this at an SA book or overseas?

Paddy power UK ( I live UK now so bet with both SA and UK firms). Maybe WSB or one of other SA books have market?

Two early fancies for me.

Moana Pacifika +24.5 at 9/10. Hurricanes with a few injury concerns, including Ardie, who I think they won't risk. Also Covid in the Hurricanes camp. I expect a few fringe players to get a run. And Moana Pacifika impressed me, even though it was against the Crusaders 2nd team.

Crusaders -7.5 at 9/10. Expect the Crusaders to be back at full strength and come out firing this week.

Been away from the markets all day so not sure of any movement but here are the URC caps compared to my projections

Sharks -12.5 v Scarlets (-14.5)
Bulls -7.5 v Munster (-6.5)
Lions -4.5 v Cardiff (-5.5)
Stormers -25.5 v Zebre (-31.5)

Stormers game the big difference but no ways I am lumping on the Zebre plus

Moana Pacifika +25 @ 10/11

Think this shortens today as rumours circulating of bigger covid issue in Canes camp than originally thought.

It is absolutely brutal when it goes against you. You cannot win without some luck. Even the best of the best go through periods where they just cannot get a break.

Everyone with an opinion predicted the Bulls would blow them away in the 2nd half with the altitude factor. Red Card or not the altitude never came into play.

The Reds game was also an absolute surprise. The Crusaders !

My advice is if you are able to beat the addiction (yes it is an addiction) then sit back and watch without a bet. My story is after lockdown I decided not to bet anymore and when it just came to watching the void of not having a bet made me stop watching totally. The last few weeks I started betting again and week after week I have shown a profit. Since yesterday nothing has gone right with quite a few bad beats. The burning scalp, the flush cheeks and that sickening feeing in the stomach make me feel like I am back on that path that I hate.

This week I have battled in business with load shedding and instead of relaxing this weekend I have made things worse. I am a big boy and look for no sympathy,

Jameson if you can then please stay away. All of what Chiefie has written is true. Good luck. For me ? I have no idea but in a perfect world I would like to the the bookies to 'stick it up your arse'

Brutal weekend so far, Sharks -17, Scarlets under 17.5. Sale -4 and England +17 inplay all losers. Biggest bet of the weekend on Waratahs -2 to come to half save a disaster.
