Giro Stage 14
Short stage today at 147km which I like with some very steep shortish climbs. Should be a good one. Saving match bets for tomorrow's mountain top.

Still no winner and I play every day. A few more riders fellow punters may ignore.
Giro Stage 15
Win
Hamilton @ 22/1
Taaramae @ 28/1
e/w
Pedrero @ 100/1
de Marchi @ 150/1 (My Valter)

and I have some hope for these two
Buitrago/Kelderman @ 18/10 (Can't see Kelderman in the break today after yesterday's effort so he should ride in after assisting Hindley and Buchmann)

Match bet double
Arensman/Fortunato into Bilbao/Buchman @ 16/10

AND stiffs Couch with that Nibali pick yesterday.

Great call Ciccone Brent. From your post I presume you were a big Buitrago fan over the last 5kms based on the odds.
I was very pleased with the Buitrago match bet and the 25/1 place on Pedrero was welcome. Still pushing 20 cycling units down for the Giro so am going to need a massive week.

Giro Last Rest Day
Wanted to double the Bouwman KOM into Bahrain in the team at 15/2 but no book will allow this so had to look elsewhere.
Carapaz was down on his knee yesterday in an incident very similar to the Yates chute sans gravite so who knows how he will fare in the big mountains. Also they say bet against a loser or with a winner and anyone who can pick a grand tour stage winner and PGA winner from 7 shots back - a feat last achieved 44 years ago - is worth a follow even if it was only a dream.

Win
Landa @ 14/1

Massive stage coming up and only a true mountain goat can take it - my type of stage!

Descending could be the skill some neglect tomorrow and I'm backing arguably the best in the race at that aspect - Bilboa at 28/1.

Of course if there is rain around and GC don't feel safe going all in the break could have a chance and here I will back Dombrowski at 40/1.

Lastly its a man who can go up, go down, get in the break or win by taking on the GC guys late. Formolo at 50/1.

And so we hit the Queen stage. 202km and 5,000plus metres of climbing after a rest day.

Giro Stage 16
Probably not wise to spend too much but we have poorish weather forecast and, as Couch points out, descending skills will be required today. Bahrain will want to keep both Landa and Bilbao in contention. I think Bilboa and Nibali are the best descenders which makes that kc match bet really attractive. I expect a GC win today but will add Formolo purely based on the expected weather.

Win
Yates @ 5/1
Formolo @ 50/1

Bilbao/Buchmann @ evens (Best I could find locally)

Really leaking coins atm.

Matches:
G Martin over Fortunato 16/10
Furtunato is sure to have another crack at the break. Should F be gobbled up he will likely pull the cord and relax all the way home. Martin is an up and down character but hopefully today is an "up" day.

Pozzovivo over Nibali 9/4
Love Nibs and seems best of the rest but Poz looked worse yesterday due to his slip and this price looks a touch of value.

Treble (motivated by BG) - Landa over Almeida, Pello over Buchman and Buitrago over Poel at 21/10.

Darts (backing the break):
Dombrowski 18/1
Taaramae 33/1
Cherel 150/1

Made both match bets yesterday which helps but missed the in-play by 7 seconds.

Giro Stage 17
Only way I see a break stay today is if Ineos are slow out the blocks and the break is 20 or so riders. A little nibble should this happen but going with a match bet and probably an in-play shot.

It always amazes me how many times a small group rolls over the line containing your match bet and they finish in the wrong order. Stiffs on that Bilbao/Buchmann leg guys. Made my Lopez by a few minutes so no stress there yesterday.

Giro Stage 18
150km Straight away. The ciclamino is settled so not sure FDJ will be that concerned about the break. Main job is get Demare over Saturday's mountains. The break may stay and Jumbo have put riders into most recently and they came close yesterday.
Only smalls today - even if I add an in-play later it will still only be at the beer level

The tough climb tops out with 44km to go and then there is around 15km flat before the easy final climb. Looks too much like a GC group riding in for me to risk match bets. Break must have a shot though and this is probably the last chance saloon for a long odds win.

Another ride in together loss for the boards - stiffs kc. My in-play finished the same as all previous in-plays 2nd.

Giro Stage 20
Bora and Bahrain have to take the fight to Carapaz today so I don't see a break making it. We head well over 2,000m for the first time today and Valverde has started looking old and he has never been comfortable over 2,000m. Arensman has looked to be running on empty recently.

I have enjoyed the Giro. Most stages have delivered a little something and the country is stunning.
The punting has been diabolical. Lost 5 of 6 outrights early on and no idea how many bets have failed by a single place. My two rest day picks of Hindley top 3 at 7/2 - not taken as I had Bardet who was stretchered off a few days later - and the KOM/Team double at 15/2 - refused by books for being related - both landed to no avail.

Giro Stage 21
Foss was my only outright pick which was poor. He had obviously not recovered fully from his injuries. If fit he should win here so joining Brent with
