Apologies to the Newsletter subscribers but I was under a lot of pressure last week and had commitments on the weekend so never got a chance to send the newsletter with Best Bet out.

My biggest bet of the weekend was Lions over 20 points and the preview picks went well but I couldn't watch a lot of rugby and so never got heavily involved meaning the weekend was not as good as it should have been.

Super Rugby Pacific continues this weekend and here are my projected handicaps

Highlanders -16.5 v Force
Brumbies +6.5 v Crusaders
Drua +9.5 v Moana
Blues -13.5 v Reds
Waratahs +7.5 v Hurricanes
Rebels +15.5 v Chiefs

The Currie Cup continues and here are my handicaps

Pumas -9.5 v WP
Cheetahs -14,5 v Sharks
Bulls -25.5 v Lions

There are also 2 URC games in what looks a fairly quiet week

Your Super caps all within a couple of points BG, except the Drua v Moana, with Moana 2 point dogs!?

I know Drua rested a few v the Canes so will be well rested, but can't see how they are favourites here?

Interested in other's thoughts.....

Blues -13.5 @ 10/11.

The Reds have just been undone at home to the Highlanders who havent impressed other than a couple individuals. I look at the Reds match-day 23 and they simply will be over-powered in all areas if Blues are full-strength. The loss of JOC and TT to injury exposes their lack of cover.

The 13/14 point cap is based on Reds form earlier in competition. They've lost by 13 to the Canes and this Blues side is a notch above.

Hate to lump on early on the Blues as we know what's happened in years gone by, but i'm all over them this weekend.

Couldn't agree more Southpaw - I think the Crusaders win this one by double digits.

Home final positions to play for. Valentini and Lolosio out. Crusaders strong with Taylor and S Barrett back to strengthen the pack, All Blacks spots up for grabs as well as home finals. Heard about COVID ripping through their camp last week and sending four players home, but if the team that is named starts, I can see the Brumbies being outclassed, even in Canberra.

Really like Landers under 35.5, going strong - even at home under cover they haven't looked that threatening in attack.

Quite torn on the Saders cap and the split panel on the show didn't help me out haha. Saders have been inconsistent and the Brumbies are hot (injuries or no injuries). Tentative 2 units (out of 5) on Saders 1-21 at evens on TAB.

Pumas v WP betting preview

Going against the panelists here and on the Pumas but main interest likely to be points

Looks like books are running for cover after the Bulls team was announced earlier this afternoon! Effectively a very young side taking on a more settled Lions outfit that will be desperate for a win!

Yip, I was worried the Lions might load a bit but didn't expect such a selection from the Bulls - poor mistake on my part

Poor day for me (already banking Bulls game as a loss so I can start fresh)

Won on Saders and Blues minus, lost on Moana - geez their error rate was horrendous

Think the trend of NZ teams biting back over Aus teams will continue next, big strike on Canes -5 @ 1.80

The Rebels get sin binned and they score two tries.
Against the Chiefs!

They should keep a player out of their team and play only 14.
