Super Rugby, Gallagher Prem and URC semi's, Currie Cup final round 10-12 June

I had a decent punting weekend with the Lions game a big swing for me. The disappointment was Griquas getting going far too late against WP and the Newsletter Best Bet Griquas -3.5 falling short.

Onto this weekend and we have some real quality to look forward to and I have not looked at any of the handicaps so I can have a go at mine with a clean slate - before I post though I am going to check and will add bookmaker lines in brackets if available

Super Rugby Semi-finals projected handicaps

Crusaders -10.5 v Chiefs
Blues -12.5 v Brumbies

URC Semi's projected caps - WSB in brackets

Leinster -13.5 (-17.5) v Bulls
Stormers -4.5 (-0.5) v Ulster

The Currie Cup final round is upon us

Here is the current position

Bulls 47 pts pd 122
Cheetahs 43 pts pd 123
The Cheetahs would need to win and get at least the same amount fo bonus points as the Bulls to top the log (I think)

Griquas 31 pts pd 37
Pumas 27 pts pd 42
The Cheetahs would need to win and get at least the same amount fo bonus points as the Bulls to top the log (I think)

Sharks 24 pts pd -18
The Sharks are realistically out if the Pumas win or get 2 points - fi the Pumas lose with 1 bonus point the Sharks must get 5, if the Pumas don't get a bonus point the Sharks must get 4.

Pumas -7.5 v Griquas
Cheetahs -4.5 v Bulls
WP +3.5 v Sharks (this cap may well move after the Pumas game depending on whether the Sharks are out or what they need to do)

There are also Gallagher Prem semi's but won't have a go capping these - below current caps which were in line with the Conductors projections

Saracens -6.5 v Harlequins
Leicester -9.5 v Northampton

You'd think that the Stormers would have to tighten things up more than a bit to beat Ulster? Chucking it around like crazy just about worked last time out but not sure if it will again.

Agree on Ulster, South. Like them to win.

In Superrugby I like both dogs, but the Chiefs especially. The more I think about the Christchurch game, the more I think the handicap is 5 points too high. Crusaders have been very inconsistent and I think they'll miss Ethan Blackadder a lot. Chiefs dismantled a good Waratahs side without any problems while the score flattered the Crusaders against the Reds. I think this will be close and Chiefs can win the game.

Chiefs +8.5 at 5/6 a confident strike
Smaller bet Chiefs +8.5 onto Ulster win at 28/10

Surely the UlsterVsStormers game will be an unders affair? LeinsterVsBulls could be a cheeky overs?

I haven't written anything on here for a long time but I feel compelled to comment even as a Crusader's supporter. I wouldn't read anything into the Chiefs performance against the Waratahs as the week before the Waratahs couldn't even beat an Auckland B team. If the weather is good I'm backing the Crusaders to win by 11-20. They will be fired up for this.

Cracking bet that, spoilt for choice where you managed to get that south! I'm assuming that is not a local option?

Hearing Whitelock out for the Saders and was in any event going to press Chiefs +9.5 at 17/20

Yes mate Boylesports in UK. Moved most my rugby punting there for these types of bet builder markets, not even all UK firms offer them. Be good if some SA books started doing same.

Going against the grain here for a bit less profit. CRU -7.5 @1.76 Sunbet. May be a bit damp but also like o45.5 @1.72 WSB. Just getting the toes wet as Fridays haven't been good to me lately. Will be looking for more value and better profits later on. Happy punting!

They should name these turnstiles at Eden park after lolesio - this brumbies 10 offering little than an escort to the try line.

And this game is mental. Every play is either a penalty or points. Unders is toast.

That's the nice thing about guests. They eat my food, drink my wine and then take delight in my bet going down the tubes. Just wish I could choose family like one can choose buddies
