International Rugby, Bunnings NPC Round 2 11-13 August

I managed to show a profit this weekend thanks to Australia and France points getting up by half a point (the Newsletter Best Bet* was France over 20.5 at 8/10 and I am grateful I took the shorter price for an extra point as all 21 points were scored in the 1st half)

The Aussie game was similar and needing 19 points it looked banked when they scored 17 before the break (great forum calls by Mondo Aus o7.5 points and South getting the early 16.5 overs) but I had to sweat before Cooper just landed a long distance penalty in the final 10 minutes.

Only 2 high profile internationals from what I can see, here are my estimated handicaps although team news could make them look silly.

England -9.5 v Wales
France -16.5 v Scotland

There is also NPC

I took Otago +8.5 ha @1.91 2u. They didn't have a bad match against Tasman while Wellington was pretty awful against Manawatu. Even with a lot of youngster its a lively team, for me this should be tighter.

Also France -14.5 @1.85 2u, they will field a strong team and for me they are more than 2 scores stronger than Scotland.

I took the same bet, also a few beers on France -20 @ 2.88

Could be wrong but I don't think Scotland go full strength

I take Southland +3.5 ha @1.91 2u against Northland, after Northland 4 days turnaround for me Southland should be favourite. Northland didn't impress first two rounds while Southland played well against title contenders Waikato.

Scotland almost full strength (no White, Fagerson nor Graham) but France strong as well and I stick to my France -14.5. Looking for over total France as well when available.

Bay of Plenty dnb @1.80 2u. Strong lineup except from Hawera, I don't rate him high but stronger than Waikato in my opinion. No Ioane, Jacobson and Tupaea for the Moloos, big absences so BOP should be more favourite.

FRANCE over 31.5 @ 5/6

French coming to play on Sat. Will be very warm but no humidity, pitch looks perfect, stadium is on top of players so atmosphere should be charged.

Cheeky multi for the weekend -

France vs Scotland over 49.5 & BOP + 3.5 & Otago over 24.5 & Tasman vs Auckland over 47.5 @ 6.1

Prices are not out yet but I expect Scotland HT to be over 7.5/8.5 and I would be quite keen on that.

USA over 21.5 @ 10/11

Scored 31 after 60min in hot conditions last week, by all accounts mood in camp is very positive. Portugal not played since March, could be a bit rusty. Conditions hot and dry tonight.
