Sudan's slender hopes of reaching the quarter finals of AFCON 2012 revolve around winning their final Group B match against Burkina Faso in Bata and the result of Monday night's other game going their way.
Sudan twice came from behind to force a 2-2 with Angola in their previous Group B match. That gave them their first point of the tournament after they opened with a 1-0 defeat to Ivory Coast and just about keeps their tournament alive. With Ivory Coast topping the group with six points ahead of Angola who have four, Sudan must win this game against a Burkina Faso side who have lost both their matches so far. Sudan will also have to hope Ivory Coast can beat Angola in a match which kicks off at the same time as this one and then goal differerence will settle who goes through.
The Angola game produced a spirited effort from Sudan who's recent record in front of goal has been appalling. Mohamed Bashir was the man who scored both goals, one in each half, and they finished the stronger of the two sides. Their opponents here are bottom of the group after losing 2-1 to Angola and 2-0 to Ivory Coast and have just pride to play for. That opening game defeat to Angola was the most damaging and Burkina Faso were a touch unfortunate to lose. It's hard to predict whether they will use this final match before returning home to shake up the starting XI and the question of how motivated those who are selected will be in view of their disappointing campaign also needs to be considered.
Both these teams have played their opening matches in Malabo but this match will take place in Bata, scene of the huge downpour which marred the Group A clashes last week. Of the first four matches played at this ground, three delivered at least three goals and note Libya will play Senegal here on Sunday and it could be worth noting what condition the playing surface is in by the end of that game.
We have no head to head data to work with so let's move on to the betting.

Analysis
It's very possible that this could be Burkina Faso coach Paulo Duarte's final game in charge and although they have only pride to play, I hope, rather than expect, that Burkina Faso will give their all. Should Ivory Coast take the lead against Angola news will no doubt travel fast and Sudan will feel they still have a shout. I'm going to side with both teams to score although its a far from confident play in a tricky betting heat.
Bet: Both teams to score (yes) 1.25/1 Sportsbet
