Boks2021 1The latest Goodforthegame newsletter penned by @BrentGraham with best bets for the weekend 14th to 16th July including an 12/1 acca with @WorldSportsBet

I watched both Rugby Championship games at friends last week and the last time I was there it was the 2019 Rugby World Cup Final where I was politely cheering for the Boks, but my money was firmly on the English.

As a superstitious punter I thought back to that game when we were driving there as I was heavily invested in Australia to go well against the Boks. When they scored early I leapt in front of the screen with my fists pumping but that was pretty much the last anyone heard of me.

All I can say is that a few hours later they must have thought I am an absolutely mug punter (those who followed last weeks plays would agree LOL) as my Australia overs (newsletter best bet) and Argentina Overs never got out of the stalls.

Fortunately I fought back in the Under 20 World Championship the next day with Australia, Ireland and France delivering the goods and I am looking forward to todays action as the tournament concludes.

THE HANDICAP
We had a full panel for last night’s THE HANDICAP show and it was great to chat to @haribaldijones, @jackalforlife and @theCRowetips.  There seemed be a fair amount of agreement amongst the panel and links to the Rugby Championship games and the selected U20 matches below.

BABY BLACKS TO RUN AMOK
There are a number of bets I fancy this weekend and the million dollar question is which one gets the nod as best bet (the others make the acca)
I took the early +11.5 Boks as did many on the forum but the current handicap looks well set. I fancy under 50.5 but it is not Best Bet material – Click here for the All Blacks v Boks preview

I like the Aussies again this weekend and am backing them to score over 31.5 but after last week there is no way I am putting them up as a headline play – click here for Australia v Argentina Betting preview

That leaves the U20 champs where the final playoff games are already on the go

I am big on France from early on and will be shouting them home against Ireland and I also like the English to put the Baby Boks away but having taken the England and France -4.5 double earlier in the week I am happy to sit on that with the lines having moved (I don’t often bet early but there were some obvious line movements coming this week).

The bet I am really warming to is New Zealand over 39.5 points which is 9/10 at WSB. I thought New Zealand were much improved against Australia and I think they can hammer a Georgia team that seems to be in decline.

Southpaw a forum veteran posted his bet of New Zealand over 5.5 tries at 8/10 and that looks a cracker but the only price I can find now is 8/11 (0.72/1)
The question is whether to take the over 39.5 or the shorter price over 5.5?

I am ruling out New Zealand 3 pointers which means to hit the 39.5 we need 6 tries and 5 conversions which means we likely need 7 tries.
On that basis I would rather put a bigger bet on the over 5.5 at a shorter price.

BET: 6 units New Zealand u20 over 5.5 tries at 8/11 at Sportingbet*

Other Highlights on Goodforthegame:

  • Tour de France Stage 13 Betting Preview  I am going for long shots here ranging from 40/1 to 100/1 even though deep down I expect the hot favourites Pogacar to duel it out with his rival Vingegaard

I was hoping to include under 50.5 in Auckland in the acca but most bookies have taken the market down for some reason.
So I am going with 3 u20 matches and the Australia RC game

0.5 unit at 12/1 at WSB – here is the booking code to prepopulate the acca  62400570

Australia -10.5 v Wales u20 at 17/20
England -7.5 v Boks u20 at 19/20
France -8.5 v Ireland u20 at 10/11
Australia over 31.5 at 19/20

Have a good one!
