Race 1

SAKA GOLD showed good improvement in his last start over this C&D. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. He has been gelded since his last outing, which may have done the trick. The son of Querari meets the right field and he is capable of shedding his maiden tag.

DON’T LINNGAR ran a good race when third in his last start over this C&D. He was inconvenienced at the start, but the manner in which he finished off his race was eye-catching. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

RAPTOR ISLAND showed some improvement in his first run as a gelding. The son of Dynasty should have no issues with the drop to 1200m. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and he may have more to come.

Race 2

LESLIES PATHTOFAME finished 1.1 lengths behind GIMME A RAINBOW last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. All six of his career victories have come on this course. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off his back and he will be mowing down the frontrunners.

GIMME A RAINBOW moved up like a winner last time, but was caught in the shadow of the post by Get Carter. Serino Moodley retains the ride and if keeping on a straight line, he can go one better.

GUNSMOKE finished 0.7 lengths behind QUEST FOR THE BEST last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He gets the blinkers re- fitted for this outing and must be included in all bets.

Race 3

ZAKHO showed good improvement in his last start over 1600m on the turf. He has been reported to be coughing in both his career efforts to date. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to 1800m. Keagan de Melo takes the ride and in this line-up, he should be the one to beat.

ULTIMATE JEWEL should have finished closer to the winner last time as he had to be switched at the 200m mark. The son of Rabada should have no issues with the rise to 1800m. With a bit of luck in running, he should pose a massive threat to the top choice.

AFROPOLITAN set the pace in his last start over 1700m on this course before finishing third. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. He is likely to have his own way in front once again and may be hard to peg back.

Race 4

DOUBLE ESPRESSO showed good guts when winning his last start over 1900m on this course. He received a two-pound penalty for that victory. 4kgs claiming apprentice Siphesihle Hlengwa retains the ride and he can follow up.

PIRATE PRINCE followed up his maiden win with a good third-place finish over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. The son of Master Of My Fate will love the rise to 2000m and with a bit of luck from the widest draw of twelve, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

FEVER finished 1.3 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. Three of his five career victories have come over this C&D and he cannot be ignored.

Race 5

TOTO was not disgraced when finishing third in her last start over this distance on the turf, against stronger. She won a good race in her penultimate effort over this C&D. The daughter of Legislate takes a drop back in class and despite her big mass of 62kgs, she should notch up her third career victory.

ACACIA’S BLOSSOM was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over this C&D. She received a five-pound penalty for that victory. Keagan de Melo retains the ride and against similar company, she can follow up.

RETAIL THERAPY was unlucky last time as she had to be switched at the 250m mark and was reported to have choked up. She has won four times, finished second twice and third once from thirteen starts over this C&D. With a bit of luck from her awkward draw of eight, she should run into the money.

Race 6

WHITE CEDAR was ultra-impressive when winning his last start over this C&D. He set the pace, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The 7yo gelding is likely to adopt the same tactics from his wide draw of ten and can follow up.

HIGH VELOCITY ran a fair race in his last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Athandiwe Mgudlwa steps back into the saddle and he is one of the leading contenders.

FIERY DUKE finished 0.5 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

Race 7

THE APPEAL moved up like a winner over 1800m on the turf last time, but was caught late. He has won once and finished third twice from seven starts over this distance. The 7yo gelding is having his peak run today and he should be cherry-ripe. He does have an awkward draw of nine to contend with, but gets the services of Keagan de Melo who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

COUNT MARSH showed good guts when winning his last start over 1400m on this course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces. JUAN CARLOS has fair recent form lines to his credit. He has cracked pole position and is likely to race on the pace. The son of Frankel should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 8

FABULOUS is the best bet on the card. She followed up her maiden win with an equally impressive victory over 1400m on the turf. She was slow into stride, but ran on strongly to win going away. The daughter of Visionaire should have no issues with the rise to the mile. If jumping on terms, she should take a power of beating.

LET IT SNOW showed good guts when winning her last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. If keeping on a straight line, she should pose a massive threat.

MISS LIALAH is better than her last start over 1800m on this course. Her penultimate run when finishing third over this C&D was encouraging. If 4kgs claiming apprentice Siphesihle Hlengwa is able to switch her off early, she should fight out the finish
