Race 1

This is the first Juvenile Plate in the Western Cape and the betting market will be the best guide. RUNWAY BOMB is a daughter of Lancaster Bomber from the Justin Snaith stable and Richard Fourie does duty. Her mother, Schiffer was a four-time winner from 600m to 1000m. If not too green, she should get her career off to a positive start.

CAPTIVATE hails from the Candice-Bass Robinson yard and she is a daughter of Gimmethegreenlight. Her mother, Captive Lady was a one-time winner over 1200m. Aldo Domeyer is booked to ride and if not in need of the run, she should give a good account of herself.

MISS HANNIGAN is a daughter of Canford Cliffs from the visiting Gareth van Zyl yard with Keagan de Melo up. Her mother, Easy Street was an eight-time winner from 1000m to 1200m.

Race 2

Once again the betting market will be the best guide with regards to these juveniles. The in-form stable of Justin Snaith send out four runners with Richard Fourie booked to ride SPEEDING BULLET. The son of What A Winter is related to two-time winner Noble Sniper. If not in need of the run, he may get his career off to a positive start.

GIMMELIGHTNING is the stable companion of the top choice and he is a son of Gimmethegreenlight. He is related to three-time winner Kingsmeads Krystl.

MAJOR APOLLO hails from the Greg Ennion yard with Keagan de Melo doing duty. He is related to seven-time winner Great Shaka who was a speedy type. If not too green, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 3

ELECTRIC FEELS is a filly taking on the males. She showed good pace in her last start over this C&D, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Everlasting. The daughter of William Longsword gets the services of capable workrider Aron Xabendlini and she may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

RAFIKI showed some signs of a form return in his last start over this C&D, under workrider Callum Dixon. Interestingly, the blinkers have been removed, but he is in a good space and is one of the leading contenders.

FUTURE TURN has decent consistent form lines to his credit. He takes a big drop in distance, but has placed over the 1200m in the past. The son of Futura will be mowing down the frontrunners in the run down to the line.

Race 4

CONTIGUOUS should have finished closer to the winner in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville as he was held up for a run at the 400m mark. He returns from an 11-week break, during which time he was gelded. If not in need of this outing, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

INSIDE STORY is better than his last start over 1200m. It must be noted that King Regent has come out and won again since. The manner in which he finished off his debut effort suggests that he will love the rise to 1600m. The son of Dynasty has plenty of scope and he is one of the leading contenders.

DOUBLING UP ran a fair race in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. He returns from a 10-week break and the gelding may have done the trick. The well-related son of Twice Over must be included in all bets.

Race 5

DAISY DUKE’S last two starts have been good. She set the pace over 1400m last time, but was outrun late by Venus De Milo. The daughter of The United States meets the right field and if seeing out the extra furlong on offer, she should take a power of beating.

MEDLERS TART’S ran a decent race in her last start over 1800m. The manner in which she finished off her race that day was encouraging. Stable jockey Aldo Domeyer takes the ride and he may be able to get the best out of her where it matters most.

ROYAL INVITATION finished 1.25 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them at the wire. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe.

Race 6

SILVANO’S DASHER won a good race in his last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville, despite taking a keen hold in the early stages. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Silvano should have no issues with the step up to the mile. He jumps from a good draw of three and can notch up the hat-trick.

IMILENZEYOKUDUDUMA was super-impressive when winning his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He quickened up well, took the lead at the 350m mark and won with a ton in hand. The son of Dynasty has class about him and from the widest draw of ten, he will be mowing down the frontrunners.

NORTHERN SONG finished 0.6 lengths behind WECANGOALLNIGHT last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won twice, finished second twice and third twice from nine starts over this distance. The 5yo gelding will be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 7

CHARLES DICKENS is unbeaten from four starts to date. He was super-impressive when winning the Grade 3 Cape Classic over this distance on the winter course last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. This is a prep run for the Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Cape Guineas, but he is the class horse in the race and should keep his unbeaten record intact.

NARINA TROGON is the stable companion of the top choice. He was slow into stride over 1200m last time and ran on well from the rear of the field. The son of Silvano is bred to enjoy the rise to 1400m and with just 50kgs on his back, he should be involved.

WINCHESTER MANSION was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over this distance on the winter course. He would have come on from the run and merits healthy respect.

Race 8

WHAT A STATE moved up like a winner over 1100m last time, but was touched off by Pacific Green. The daughter of What A Winter takes a slight drop in class and she will strip a much fitter horse. Jockey Grant Behr retains the ride and she is capable of going one better.

MA BLACK finished 5.75 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is only 1kg better off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. She has won twice and finished third once from four starts over this C&D. She is having her peak run today and with Aldo Domeyer back in the saddle, she should be competitive.

PALO QUEEN took on stronger in the Non-Black Type Need For Speed Sprint last time. Her penultimate run over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville was encouraging. She drops back in class and should run into the money
