Race 1

FUTURE SAINT should have finished much closer to the winner last time as he was left with too much to do from the wide draw. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The son of Futura is having his first run for the Kumaran Naidoo stable. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he should be the horse to beat.

NOBLE WARRIOR stayed on when fifth over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. His best career effort came over this distance. He jumps from a good draw of four and is one of the leading contenders.

TERIYAKI showed good improvement in his last start over 1200m on the turf. He should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was inconvenienced at the 300m mark. He gets a change of headgear and with luck in running, he can finish in the placings.

Race 2

ELECTRIC STORM should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was steadied at the 1000m mark and hung in the straight. The son of Hat Puntano gets a change of headgear which may do the trick. With a bit of luck in running, he can shed his maiden tag.

MAYOR OF MERRIVALE’S last two starts over 1600m have been decent. He would have come on from his last outing and should strip much fitter. The son of Rafeef tries the 1800m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should pose a massive threat.

POWER STAR finished 0.25 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.

Race 3

FLAG MAN is the best bet on the programme. Despite jumping awkwardly into stride last time, the manner in which he ran on and got the better of El Dante was impressive. The son of Flying The Flag is having his second run for the Gareth van Zyl stable. He will love the rise to 1800m and carries a handy galloping mass of 55kgs. He has class about him and should notch up the hat-trick.

RELEASE ME has fair recent form lines to his credit. He takes a drop-in class and if Muzi Yeni is able to switch him off early, he should be the one to fill the exacta spot.

MASTER FUEGO stayed on when second over 1400m on this course last time. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to 1800m. He jumps from pole position and should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 4

RECKLESS LOVE is better than her last two starts on the turf. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth in her last outing has come out and won since. She has won three times from ten starts over this C&D. She is back on her favourite surface and on best form shown, she may be the one to cause the upset.

MANIC MONDAY is better than her last start against male company. Her form prior to that outing was consistent. She jumps from pole position and should be hard to peg back.

JOLLIFICATION has good consistent form lines to her credit. She has won twice, finished second once and third once from five starts on this course. If not in need of this outing, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 5

ARVERNI PRINCESS has been taking on stronger company in recent outings. She finished 0.3 lengths behind VISION OF WILL, three runs ago. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She takes a drop-in class and back against her own sex, she can return to winning ways.

VISION OF WILL has good recent form lines to her credit. It must be noted that the form of her last outing has been franked. Her last victory came under Richard Fourie and the combination merit healthy respect.

FLYING THE STAR has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She has won once and finished third three times from six starts over this C&D. The 6yo mare will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Race 6

RAFIKI finished 0.45 lengths behind BRASS BELL last time. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He returns from a 10-week break which may have done him the world of good. If not in need of the run, he can return to winning ways.

ONE IRISH ROVER showed good signs of a form return last time. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from six starts on this course. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

GIAMBATTISTA finished 0.25 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

Race 7

INGAKARA ran a good race over 1600m on this course last time. She raced from a handy position and despite racing wide, the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. If repeating that effort in this field, she can go one better with Deryl Daniels in the saddle.

SPRING KISS produced a typical second run after a rest last time. She ran a decent race in her penultimate effort over this C&D. The daughter of Querari will be at peak fitness and if jumping on terms, she should pose a threat.

MISS LIALAH ran a fair race over 1600m on this course last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She is C&D suited and Muzi Yeni may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

Race 8

POURSOMESUGARONME is better than her last start against stronger company as the jockey reported something to be amiss. She has finished third in both her efforts over this C&D. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off her back and if not too far out of her ground turning for home, she can return to winning ways.

BIRDWATCHER stayed on when fifth over 1200m on this course last time. She would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and the pair should be competitive.

PERFECT TRUST showed good improvement in her last start over 1600m on this course. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. If confirming her recent improvement, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest
