The first leg of the Uefa Champions League semi final between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid takes place on Tuesday and we dig deep into the exotics for a bet
Bayern
Bayern booked their semi final ticket with a 3-2 aggregate win over Arsenal. The first leg in London finished 2-2 with Gnabry and a Harry Kane penalty putting Bayern in a good position and a Kimmich goal midway through the second half of the return in Munich was enough to send them through.
In their Round of 16 match up with Lazio Bayern overturned a 1-0 first leg deficit with a 3-0 win in the in Munich with Harry Kane bagging a brace.
Bayern were unbeaten in cruising through their group. They dropped points in just the 1 match, a 0-0 draw at home to runners up Copenhagen whilst Galatasaray were third and Manchester United were the big casualties in fourth.
Leverkusen are already assured of the Bundesliga title but Bayern now have daylight in second spot and look most likely to finish as runners up.
Real Madrid
Real's quarter final match up with Manchester City went all the way to a penalty shoot out. The first leg in Madrid ended 3-3 with Real registering through Rodyrgo and Valverde plus a City own goal. Rodrygo scored early in the return in Manchester but City levelled after the break, the game finished 1-1 and Real went on to win on spot kicks.
In the Ro16 Real were made to work harder than expected to go through 2-1 on aggregate against RB Leipzig. They won the first leg 1-0 away from home before playing out a 1-1 draw in Madrid.
Real Madrid came through their group with a 100% record, they had Napoli, who finished second, for company along with third placed Braga and Union Berlin were the also rans.
At the time of writing Real top La Liga, 13 points clear of Girona and 14 in front of Barcelona, Barca have a game in hand but Real have lost just the 1 league game this season and the title is surely theirs.
The Betting
Bayern are 15/10 to win the first leg with the draw at 2.55/1 and Real are 17/10
A games of 3 goals or more is priced at 0.68/1 and it's 0.57/1 for both teams to score
To qualify for the final via any method Bayern are 1.72/1 and Real are 9/20
The Verdict:
This is Bayern's only chance of a trophy this season and whilst their domestic form has been below par Harry Kane is scoring for fun including 7 in 10 UCL outings.
I'm battling to call this one so a small nibble on Harry Kane to score with a header will satisfy my interest.
