PolandEuroFifa World Cup Group C gets under way on Tuesday when Argentina take on Saudi Arabia and Mexico clash with Poland

Odds provided by @Betway_za are correct at the time of writing but are subject to change.

Argentina 0.17/1 Draw 66/10 Saudi Arabia 19/1

Argentina

Argentina finished as runners up to Brazil in the South American qualifying group. Both sides were unbeaten but Argentina's record of 11 wins and 6 draws saw them finish 6 points adrift of their rivals.

They last won this trophy in 1986 and they have been runners up twice since then and quarter finalists 3 times but they got no further than the Round of 16 in 2018 when they lost to France who went on to be crowned champions.

Form is top draw with a 35 game unbeaten run which includes a Copa America title. Lionel Scaloni is the coach and they are ranked 3rd in the world by Fifa.

Argentina are trading at around 11/2 to win the tournament and 4/10 to top Group C

Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia topped one of the two Asian qualifying groups with a record of 7 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat to finish 1 point clear of Japan and 8 better off than Australia who subsequently came through the play offs.

Saudi Arabia failed to make it beyond the group stage in 2018, they are ranked 51st in the world and they have pulled a tough group and the betting has them as rank outsiders.

Recent warm up results include a 1-0 defeat to Croatia, aa 1-1 draw with Panama and a 1-0 win over Iceland.

Saudi Arabia are trading at around 750/1 to win the tournament and 22/1 to top Group C

The Verdict:

The experience of Messi and DI Maria with some young stars should mean that Argentina will have too much for Saudi Arabia but it's a one sided betting heat and my interest is limited.

I will go with Argentina to win by a 2 goal margin.

Bets: Winning Margin, Argentina by 2 goals exactly at 2.65/1 with Betway

Mexico 18/10 Draw 2/1 Poland 1.85/1

Mexico

Mexico are regulars at World Cup finals, they often get out of their group but they rarely go deep. They qualified as runners up to Canada with USA in third spot with 8 wins, 4 draws and 2 defeats and goals were fairly scarce with 17 scored and 8 conceded.

Gerardo Martino is the coach and Mexico are ranked 13th in the world. Recent warm up results include a 4-0 win over Iraq and a 2-1 defeat to Sweden.

Mexico are trading at around 150/1 to win the tournament and 49/10 to top Group C

Poland

Poland finished as runners up to England in qualifying with a record of 6 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats, Albania and Hungary were among those to miss out. That put Poland in the play offs where they were given a bye (with Russia not participating) before a 2-0 win over Sweden booked their ticket to Qatar.

Poland are ranked 26th in the world and much hinges on Robert Lewandowski. They won 1 and lost 2 group matches in the 2018 finals to head home early and coach Czeslaw Michniewicz  is the man tasked with taking them further this time around. A recent warm up delivered a 1-0 win over Chile.

Poland's performance in the Euro's last year disappointed as they picked up just 1 point from 3 group matches.

Poland are trading at around 150/1 to win the tournament and 4.65/1 to top Group C

The Verdict:

Mexico can normally be relied upon to get through the group stage but I think Poland might have their number this year. Poland were a touch disappointing in the Euro's but their qualifying results might prove to be stronger than Mexico's. Robert Lewandowski has yet to score for Poland in a World Cup finals and that missing piece of the jigsaw could be found here.

Bets: Poland to win at 1.85/1 with Betway

Anytime goalscorer Robert Lewandowski at 1.55/1 with Betway
