FranceEuroFifa World Cup Group D gets under way on Tuesday when Denmark clash with Tunisia and defending champions France take on Australia

Odds provided by @Olimp_SA are correct at the time of writing but are subject to change.

Denmark 0.53/1 Draw 32/10 Tunisia 62/10

Denmark

Denmark qualified automatically after topping their group with 9 straight wins followed by 1 defeat, finishing 4 points clear of Scotland with the likes of Israel and Austria missing out.

Denmark were excellent in the Euro's, bowing out in the semi finals at Wembley against England and they are ranked 10th in the world. Kasper Hjulmand is the coach and he will take heart from 2 recent Nations League wins over group rivals France although they have never been beyond the quarter final stage of the World Cup.

To win the tournament Denmark can be backed at around 29/1 and they are 2.15/1 to top this group

Tunisia

Tunisia topped their qualifying group with 4 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat to take their place in the African play offs with Equatorial Guinea, Zambia and Mauritania filling the minor places. They edged past Mali (1-0) over 2 legs of their play off.

In WC 2018 Tunisia beat Panama but lost to England and Belgium to exit at the group stage. Jalel Kadri is the coach and they are ranked 30th in the world. In the AFCON finals they had a poor group stage (1 win, 2 defeats) but made the last 16 as a best third placed finisher where they upset Nigeria but then lost to Burkina Faso in the quarter finals.

A recent warm up saw Tunisia run out 2-0 winners against Iran but they were thrashed 5-1 by Brazil in September.

Tunisia are trading at around 525/1 to win the tournament and to win Group D they are 16.5/1

The Verdict:

Tunisia had an excellent defensive record in qualifying but they will bump 2 quality sides in this group and it will take a heroic effort to keep Denmark out.

I'm with both halves of of football to produce a goal.

France 3 / 10 Draw 48/10 Australia 10/1

France

France won the World Cup in Russia 2018 and they have continuity in the coaching ranks through Didier Deschamps and a dynamic strike force of Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe backed up by some experienced campaigners such as Antoine Griezmann.

Qualification was straight forward as France were unbeaten with 5 wins and 3 draws to finish 6 points clear of Ukraine, who fell at the play off hurdle, with Finland, Bosnia and Kazakhstan the other nations in that group.

France are ranked 4th in the world and whilst recent results in the Nations League were well below par you get the impression their sole focus is on lifting this trophy again.

France are trading at around 8/1 to win the tournament and to win Group D they are 0.48/1

Australia

Australia edged their way into the finals with a dramatic penalty shoot out win in the play off final against Peru. They were third in their qualifying group with a record of 4 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats to finish 7 points shy of Japan and 8 behind Saudi Arabia.

Australia are ranked 38th in the world and they have only made it out of the group stage in 1 of 5 previous attempts, back in 2006 when they bowed out in the first knockout round.

Australia are trading at around 425/1 to win the tournament and to win Group D they are 16/1

The Verdict:

There isn't anything I could find in Australia's form to suggest a surprise and I will go with France to ease themselves into the tournament with a win and clean sheet but hopefully no more than 3 goals in total.

Aditional interest comes in the form of Griezmann to pop up with a goal.

Bets: Multiple Correct Scores, France to win 1-0, 2-0 or 3.0 at 9/10

Anytime goalscorer Antoine Griezmann at 1.34/1
