Tunisia 23/20 Draw 23/10 Australia

Tunisia

Despite trading at around 11/2 by kick off Tunisia played out a 0-0 draw with Denmark in their opening match on Tuesday. Roared on by the bulk of the crowd they gave as good as they got for the majority of the match and had their moments in front of goal although only 1 of 13 attempts registered was recorded as on target.

Australia

Australia came up against France in their opening match, they were 12.5/1 to upset the defending champions and they took a ninth minute lead through Craig Goodwin. They held that lead until the 27th minute but were 2-1 down shortly afterwards. Two further French goals followed in the second half and the final score was 4-1. Another loss here would make it impossible for Australia to qualify.

The Verdict:

Tunisia face France in their final group match and I make this pretty much a must win game for both sides. With those circumstances in mind we might see goals here although the possibility that whoever scores first shuts up shop is also on my mind and Tunisia might be the more capable on that front.

I'm going to keep it simple and go with Tunisia who I thought were really good against a Denmark side who had been in great form prior to these finals.

France 8/11 Draw 13/5 Denmark 22/5

France:

Raibot, Giroud (twice) and Mbappe were the French scorers against Australia and by kick off time they will know what they need to secure qualification and will no doubt have an eye on topping the group.

There was bad news as Lucas Hernandez picked up a knock against Australia which will rule him out of the tournament. Earlier Benezama had also been ruled out of these finals but with Giroud on target and Mbappe, who also supplied an assist , lively throughout they still have a huge threat in front of goal.

Denmark

Denmark had won 9 out of 10 qualifiers and were also semi finalists in last year's Euro's but they didn't do enough against Tunisia and although they had the best chance of the game and 61% of possession they had to settle for a point. Although there were no goals the corner count was huge, 11-9 in Denmark's favour.

Verdict:

Denmark have beaten France twice this year, 2-1 away from home and 2-0 on home turf in the Nations League. How much you read into that is open to debate in a hectic football calender but on the evidence of the opening matches France would have every chance of turning the tables.

I've no doubt Denmark are capable of better but it's possible France could seal qualification here and rotate for their final group match should they wish to do so.

I'm with France to score at least twice.
