Morocco

Africa's last remaining representatives Morocco knocked Spain out in the Round of 16 on penaalty kicks. The game finished without a goal with Morocco sitting back and restricting Spain in terms of clear cut chances. Goalkeeper Yassine Bounou was the hero with 2 saves as Spain missed all 3 of their spot kicks whilst Morocco held their nerve to pull of another giant upset.

Morocco were the surprise winners of Group F, finishing with 7 points, 2 clear of Croatia with Belgium the big casualties in third with 4 points and Canada never got in a blow.

Morocco held Croatia to a 0-0 draw first time out and then pulled off a huge upset with a 2-0 win over Belgium. A 73rd minute goal from Saïss and an injury time strike from Aboukhlal downed the Belgians.

In their final group match against Canada Hakim Ziyech pounced on a goalkeeping error to give them a fourth minute lead, Youssef En-Nesyri doubled the advantage on 23 minutes and although Canada pulled a goal back just before half time there was no further scoring and the 2-1 win saw Morocco finish top.

In the outright betting to win the tournament Morocco are trading at around 30/1

Portugal

Portugal came up against a potentially awkward opponent in the shape of Switzerland in the Round of 16. Ronaldo was dropped to the bench and his replacement Goncalo Ramos was the star of the show, scoring a hat trick in a 6-1 win. Portugal led 2-0 at half time and didn't let up. Pepe, Raphael Guerriero and Rafael Leao were also on target.

Portugal topped Group H with 6 points, South Korea finished on 4 points, edging out Uruguay on goals scored and Ghana with 3 points finished fourth.

Ronaldo (pen), Felix and Leao were the scorers in the 3-2 win over Ghana and Bruno Fernandes bagged a brace in the second half of their 2-0 win over Uruguay, the second from the penalty spot.

That assured Portugal of their place in the last 16 heading into their final group match against South Korea. Ricardo Horta gave them the lead in that game but it was 1-1 by half time and Portugal conceded again in injury time to go down 2-1.

In the outright betting to win the tournament Portugal are trading at around 6/1

The Betting:

Morocco are 48/10 to win in regulation time with the draw at 27/10 and Portugal can be backed at 7/10

A game of 3 goals or more (90 minutes) is prices at 23/20 and it's 11/10 for both teams to score.

To qualify for the semi final via any method Morocco are 24/10 and Portugal 3/10

The Verdict:

Having turned the likes of Belgium and Spain over Morocco command respect but Portugal were sublime against the Swiss and seemingly hold all the aces.

I'm with Portugal to win with a clean sheet
