cobrast20Wednesday’s televised action in the CSA T20 Challenge sees the Knights take on the Dolphins in Bloemfontein and both these sides need a victory to keep their hopes of a play off spot alive.

Knights:

All 3 of Sunday’s scheduled matches were abandoned without a ball being bowled including the Knights home game against the Cobras at this venue. That was a big blow for the Knights as no play has been possible in their last 2 schedule matches and they have serious ground to make up. Right now they are bottom of the log with 8 points and all those log points were accumulated due to 4 no results. The other 3 Knights matches ended in defeat and they have yet to win in this season’s T20 Challenge.

This was how the Knights lined up in their previous completed match, a 5 run defeat away to the Cobras back on 16th April.

Patrick Kruger, Andries Gouws (wk), Raynard van Tonder, Pite van Biljon (capt), Grant Mokoena, Ryan McLaren, Shadley van Schalkwyk, Eddie Leie, Ottniel Baartman, Gerald Coetzee, Tshepo Ntuli.

Dolphins:

Prior to the abandonment of the Dolphins scheduled visit to the Lions on Sunday they hosted the Titans in Maritzburg and despite posting a healthy looking 185/4 they crashed to an 8 wicket defeat. Morne van Wyk (55) and Cody Chetty (56) top scored for the Dolphins but their bowling attack was taken apart by the Titans who got home with 7 balls to spare.

The Dolphins are in fifth place with 10 log points and a record of 1 win, 3 defeats and 3 no results. That sole success came in Durban against the Knights in what was their first action of the tournament.

This was how the Dolphins lined up in their most recent completed match:

Sarel Erwee, Morne van Wyk(w), Cody Chetty, Khaya Zondo(c), Marques Ackerman, Andile Phehlukwayo, Sibonelo Makhanya, Robbie Frylinck, Keshav Maharaj, Prenelan Subrayen, Daryn Dupavillon.

Verdict:

We will go with the Dolphins to win this game but with the odds restrictive we will put them in a multiple bet with the WSB Cape Cobras to win their home fixture against the Titans which also takes place on Wednesday.

The Cobras come up against a powerful Titans batting unit but they do have an excellent bowling attack, plus home advanatge which might just tip the balance in their favour.

Suggested Bet: Dolphins and WSB Cobras to win their respective matches at 2.04/1
