Race 1

UNCONQUERABLE LADY showed good improvement when second over this C&D last time. She jumped outwards leaving the start but showed pace and stayed on nicely at the business end. She is a progressive type and, in this line-up, she should go one better.

STRATA has produced two fair efforts to date. She is a progressive filly and if not too green around the turn, she should improve to finish in the placings.

TRES CHIC is an unraced daughter of Gimmethegreenlight from the Justin Snaith stable with Richard Fourie in the saddle. She is related to three-time winner Monashada. If not in need of the run, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her and the other first timers

Race 2

MASTER REDOUTE was running on when second in the Listed Durbanville Cup last time. The drop to 1800m should not pose a concern as he has placed over the distance in the past. The tongue-tie seems to have done the trick and Keagan de Melo may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

HAN SOLO finished 1.55 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

SOMERSET MAUGHAM is better than his last start in the Grade 2 Peninsula Handicap. He returns from a 14-week break which would have done him the world of good. He has won twice and finished second once from as many starts on this course. If fit, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 3

ILHA DA MAURICIA was not disgraced when fourth against male company in her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. She is back against her own sex today and with Luyolo Mxothwa back in the saddle, she can shed her maiden tag.

CLOUD CHASER showed good improvement in her last start over 1400m on this course. The manner in which she finished off her race that day was encouraging. She finished 4.75 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

FALLO ANCORA set the pace over 1800m last time but was outrun late. She is likely to adopt the same tactics from her handy draw of four and another honest effort is expected.

Race 4

JUST BEFORE DAWN showed good improvement in her last start over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. She was slow into stride, but the manner in which she finished off her race that day was encouraging. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She will love the rise to 1800m and with another handy galloping mass of 52.5kgs, she should give the males a run for their money.

BEAU KALA should have won her last start as she had to be switched for running room at the 300m mark. She would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. With a bit of luck in running, she should be competitive.

RUN RUDOLPH RUN stayed on when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. Aldo Domeyer is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

Race 5

Trainer Justin Snaith holds a strong hand in this contest, and he can saddle the first two past the post. FUTURE TURN has good consistent form lines to his credit. He stayed on when fourth over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. Richard Fourie retains the ride and he can notch up his second career victory.

GIMME MORE TIME took the lead at the 100m mark last time and tried hard but found one too good in the form of Charlie Croker. He is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

CARRIACOU finished 0.5 lengths behind the second-choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.

Race 6

NIGHT RULER won a good race in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He takes a drop in class and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, he can follow up.

CHOLLIMA has shown good signs of a form return in his last two starts. He raced from a handy position last time, but was outrun late. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

KEEP IT SECRET finished 1.25 lengths behind the second-choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 7

METAR has decent recent form lines to her name. She was slow into stride over this distance last time, but the manner in which she finished off her race was encouraging. She has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. If jumping on terms, she can notch up her third career victory.

GIMMEAFIRST showed signs of needing her last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. She would have come on from the run and should love the rise to the mile. With a bit of luck in running, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

PERFECT TRUST has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. It must be noted that multiple horses from her last form line have come out and won since. She does have to overcome the widest draw but gets the services of Grant van Niekerk who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

Race 8

SPYWING is better than her last start in the Non-Black Type Newlands Stakes against male company. Her penultimate run when third over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth catches the eye. The blinkers seem to have done the trick. She takes a drop in class and if suited to this course, she may be the one to beat.

WHAT A STATE raced from just off the pace over this C&D last time, moved up but was outrun late by Shantastic. She is in a good space and with Aldo Domeyer in the saddle, she should be competitive.

NIPPY WINTER finished 3.2 lengths behind BODY ELECTRIC last time. She is 6kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has run well under jockey Corne Orffer previously and if fit, she should give a good account of herself
