RACE 1

VUVUZELA UMLILO should have finished closer to the winner last time as he had to be steadied in the latter stages. The son of William Longsword should have no issues with the rise to 1900m and Richard Fourie may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

RED CENTRE is a filly taking on the males. She challenged strongly in her last start but found one too good in the form of Be Hopeful. She jumps from a good draw of four and is one of the leading contenders.

BELLE‘S FIRST WAVE ran a good race when second in his last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. With a bit of luck from his wide draw of 12, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

RACE 2

CAN‘T CATCH ME ran a good race when second in her last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She raced from just off the pace and stayed on nicely at the finish. The daughter of Flower Alley is making her stable debut and if suited to the polytrack, she should be too good for this field.

SHORT SHARP SHOCK set the pace in her last start over 1800m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth, but was outrun late. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She is having her first run for Kelly Mitchley and if settled into her new surroundings, she should be competitive.

YGRITTE was a tad disappointing in her local debut over 1200m on the turf. Her previous form at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth was fair. She tries the polytrack and with a bit of luck in running, she can improve.

RACE 3

I LIKE IT HOT finished 1 length behind BONNAROO last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She does have a wide draw of 13 to overcome, but is likely to use her early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy.

BONNAROO rallied late when third over 1000m on the turf last time. She would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. She is back against her own sex, and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

DREAM SCAPE received a bump leaving the start last time, but stayed on at the finish. It must be noted that there have been multiple winners from the form line. It is encouraging that Luyolo Mxothwa steps back into the saddle and the pair cannot be ignored.

RACE 4

OPEN SECRET ran a good race when second in her last start over 1300m on this course. Despite reported to be changing strides in running, she produced a creditable performance. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. Richard Fourie retains the ride and she should give the males a run for their money.

STAY THE COURSE was an easy winner of his last start over 1000m on this course. He returns from a well-deserved 12-week break. If not in need of this outing, he should be the first male past the post.

JOYOUS JUBILEE is better than his last start as he was reported to be changing strides. He has won once and finished second once from as many starts on this course. He takes a slight drop in class and on best form, he should have a say

RACE 5

STOLEN KISS stayed on when fourth over 1400m on the turf last time. She won a good race in her penultimate outing over 1100m on the turf. She has won once and finished second three times from five starts on this course. The daughter of Time Thief carries a handy galloping mass of 54.5kgs and should be involved once again.

FRANCA is better than her last two starts as the jockey reported something to be amiss in running. She is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D. On best form shown, she should go close to winning.

WISHFUL GIRL LINN ran a fair race in the Non-Black Type Marula Sprint last time. She is having her first run for the Cliffie Miller stable and if settled into her new surroundings, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest

RACE 6

VEGAS GOLD is much better than his last start over this distance on the turf. He won a good race in his penultimate outing when getting the better of Variety Breeze. The son of Var has won twice from three starts over this C&D. He returns to Handicap Company and can notch up his sixth career victory.

LEDELL‘S ECHO finished 0.7 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.

DELICASEA ran a good race when third in her comeback run over this distance on the turf. She has won once, finished second twice and third once from six starts over this C&D. She will strip much fitter today and must be included in all bets.

RACE 7

TARANTINO stayed on when third in his last start over 1600m on the turf. He was a winner of his previous two outings. He has won once, finished second once and third once from five starts on this course. Ryan Munger steps back into the saddle and he can notch up his sixth career victory.

BOLD RESOLVE finished 0.1 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.

NAVAL SECRET finished 0.25 lengths behind GREENLIGHTTOHEAVEN last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

RACE 8

SPIRIT OF SILVANO was an easy winner when shedding his maiden tag over 2000m on the turf. He took the lead at the 500m mark and won with a ton in hand. He does take on stronger but has found a new lease on life since relocating to the Eastern Cape and may have more to come if suited to the polytrack.

ALINGALONGA is better than his last start on the turf. His previous two outings were good. He is the stable elect with Richard Fourie in the saddle and is one of the leading contenders.

IRISH RAIN is better than his last start as he clipped heels at the 400m mark. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from eight starts on this course. On best form shown, he may be the one to cause the upset
