Race 1

CORSICAN has produced two good runs to date. He stayed on when finishing second over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. His debut effort when finishing third over this C&D catches the eye. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the widest draw of eight and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

AXEL COLLINS is an unraced son of The United States from the Peter Muscutt yard with Tristan Godden in the saddle. He is related to two-time winner Cleaver Greene. If not too green, he should get his career off to a positive start. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.

I’VE GOT WINGS ran a fair race in his last start over this distance on the turf. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. His penultimate run when finishing second over this C&D with the blinkers fitted was encouraging. Muzi Yeni takes the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.

Race 2

CANTFOOLME produced a promising debut effort over 1400m on this course. She took time to find her feet that day, but finished her race off strongly. The daughter of Philanthropist would have gained from the experience and will love the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement and with luck in running, she should be the one to beat.

NATALIA has shown good improvement in each of her outings to date. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Futura will be at home over the mile and is one of the leading contenders.

SHE’S NOT EASY finished 0.8 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.

Race 3

DUKE OF AFRICA ran on well when second over 1800m on this course last time. He was unlucky not to have won that day as his pilot dropped his reins in the closing stages. The son of Duke Of Marmalade will love the extra 100m on offer and with Muzi Yeni in the saddle, he should go one better.

STREET ART made the natural improvement when fourth over 1600m on the turf last time. His pilot dropped his crop that day which may have cost him the victory. The son of Elusive Fort is bred to enjoy the rise to 1900m and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

DAWN MISSION has good consistent form lines to his credit. He has finished second in both his efforts on this course. Kabelo Matsunyane retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.

Race 4

LUCRETIUS was an easy winner of his last start over this C&D. He raced from a handy position, quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. He received a six-pound penalty for that victory. The cheekpieces have done the trick on the son of Eightfold Path and with a bit of luck in running, he can follow up.

LORD MINVER finished 3.3 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. Keagan de Melo retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.

LIVING WATERS finished 3.45 lengths behind the top choice in the race referred to above. He is also 3kgs better off at the weights and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Race 5

IMMEASURABLE’S last three starts on this course have been good. He raced from a handy position over 2000m last time and stayed on to finish third. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off his back once again and against slightly weaker, he can return to winning ways.

CATCH THE TUNE was an easy winner of his last start over 1700m on this course. He returns from a well-deserved 10-week break. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and if not in need of the run, he can follow up.

MASTER TOBE has good recent form lines to his credit. He lost a length leaving the start over 1600m last time, but finished his race off well. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. If jumping on terms, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 6

This is a competitive Merit Rated 70 Handicap and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is GUNSMOKE from the Lorenzo Karriem stable. His last four starts against stronger company have been fair. He has dropped to a competitive rating and in this line-up, he may be the one to side with.

STANLEY is better than his last start over this distance on the turf as he raced wide around the turn and understandably lacked a finish in the straight. He is a better horse on this surface and from pole position, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

QUIZ MASTER ran on well when third over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. It is interesting that apprentice Gabriel Pieterse who has ridden him in his last two starts has opted to ride the top choice. With a bit of luck in running, he should go close to winning.

Race 7

SPLASH OF GREEN has produced two fair efforts since returning from a 13-week break. It must be noted that multiple horses from her last form line have come out and won since. She finished 3.6 lengths behind SHAPE OF YOU in her penultimate start. She is 6kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight should be at peak fitness and can return to winning ways.

DAWNOFANEWDAY was an easy winner of her last start over this C&D. She finished 0.25 lengths behind BINGIN BEACH in her penultimate run. She is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.

BINGIN BEACH got up where it matters most to win her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She finished second in her penultimate run over this C&D. From her good draw of three, she merits obvious inclusion.

Race 8

CHARA SANDS took on stronger in a minor feature over 1200m on this course last time. He won his previous two outings well over this C&D. The 11-week break would have done him the world of good and from pole position, he may be hard to peg back.

ONE TOO MANY showed good speed when winning his last start over this C&D in this class. He received a three-pound penalty for that victory and against similar company, he can follow up.

JUSTAGUYTHING has fair recent form lines to his credit. He has won three times, finished second three times and third twice from eleven starts over this C&D. Keagan de Melo takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most
