Race 1

ROMANCE IN ROME showed good speed in his last start over 1000m on the polytrack, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. He returns from a well-deserved 11-week break. He is a progressive type and if seeing out the 1400m, he can follow up.

ABERDEEN took on stronger in the Non-Black Type Bloodstock SA Sales Cup last time. His debut effort over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth was fair. He has plenty of scope and if suited to this course, he can improve to be competitive.

SPLENDID FELLA ran a fair race in his last start over 1000m on this course. It is encouraging that S’manga Khumalo retains the ride. He is likely to use his early gate speed to overcome the widest draw and may be hard to peg back.

Race 2

APPROACHABLE LASS is better than her last start as she was reported to be fatigued. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She finished second in her first three career outings. She makes her stable debut and from her good draw of two, may be the one to side with.

KITTYBOYS GIRL has decent consistent form lines to her credit. She has finished second twice and third twice from five starts over this distance. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

MADAME ZABRE is better than her last start over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. Her penultimate run when second over this distance on the polytrack was encouraging. If finding the form of that race, she can earn a cheque.

Race 3

REACH FORTHE STARS has produced two decent efforts to date. He should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was inconvenienced at the 400m mark and cast a shoe in running. He would have come on from the outing and should love the rise to the mile. He is a progressive type and from barrier two, he should take a power of beating. 

ADDABAR finished 0.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line

DOIN‘ TIME ran a good race when second over this distance on the polytrack last time. He is back on the turf and Sean Veale may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most

Race 4

MAJESTIC REIGN has finished second in his last three starts. He should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was carried inwards in the closing stages. He should enjoy the step up to the mile and with in-form jockey Tristan Godden retaining the ride, he may be rewarded for consistency. 

MADISON BLUES has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He is having his first run for Paul Lafferty and if settled into his new surroundings, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice. 

UNCLE LUCKY finished 1.3 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

Race 5

RAVENS SWORD should have finished closer to the winner over 1700m last time as he hung in the closing stages. He has won twice and finished second once from four starts over this distance. Apprentice Malesela Katjedi takes the 1.5kgs off his back and on best form shown, he can notch up his third career victory. 

WALTON HALL ran on well when second over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. With a bit of luck in running, he should be competitive

PIKETBERG ALLEY showed signs of a form return in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He has dropped to a competitive rating and can run into the placings. 

Race 6

CAPTAIN FONTANE was an easy winner in the Non-Black Type Fever Tree Stakes last time. He lost a length at the start, but quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. He has won twice and finished second once from four starts on this course. He is in a very good space and can notch up the hat- trick.

CAPE EAGLE was an easy winner of his last three starts, the latest of which was the Listed Michael Roberts Stakes. He has won twice and finished third once from as many starts over this distance. He has ability and merits healthy respect.

LORD WILLIAM won a good race in his last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. If suited to this course, he can follow up.

Race 7

SEA MASTER ran a good race when fourth over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He raced from a handy position and stayed on at the finish. This is his first run for the Gareth van Zyl yard and despite his big mass of 61kgs, he can notch up his sixth career victory.

TWICE GOLDEN finished 0.05 lengths behind PAPA C last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.

PAPA C fought hard for his last victory over 2400m on this course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He is in a good space and can follow up. 

Race 8

CAPRIANA flyjumped leaving the start last time, but the manner in which she finished off her race was eye-catching. She steps back up to the 1200m and if jumping on terms, she is capable of returning to winning ways.

VALERIAS DREAM stayed on when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. She has won once and finished third once from four starts on this course. She has cracked a good draw of two and may be hard to peg back.

FORT J’ADORE followed up her maiden victory with a decent fourth-place finish over 1000m on the polytrack. She finished 0.9 lengths behind the top choice that day. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line
