Top Bet For Today

Race 1: WIND WATER (10)
Jockey: K de Melo – Trainer: J A Janse van Vuuren

Trainer Johan Janse van Vuuren holds a strong hand in this contest and he can saddle the first two past the post. WIND WATER produced a promising debut effort when third over this C&D. He was slow into stride, and understandably raced green but how he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. It must be noted that Mythical Dream has come out and won again since. The son of Gimmethegreenlight would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the horse to beat.

Race 4: BRAZILIAN STORM (1)
Jockey: D De Gouveia – Trainer: B Botes/Y Vosloo

BRAZILIAN STORM ran a good race when second in her last start over this distance on the Vaal Classic course. She set the pace but was outrun late by Namaqua Blossom. The daughter of Sudden Storm meets a weak field today and she may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

Race 5: PLATINUM SKY (1)
Jockey: G Lerena – Trainer: S Tarry

PLATINUM SKY took on stronger in the Grade 3 Victory Moon Stakes last time. He ran a good race in his penultimate effort over 1700m on the Vaal Classic course. The son of Silvano finished third in his only attempt on this course. Gavin Lerena steps back into the saddle and if putting his best foot forward, he should be the horse to beat.

Race 7: ROSENWIND (6)

ROSENWIND was super-impressive when winning her last start over 1200m on the Vaal Classic course. She showed good speed, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. The daughter of Flower Alley looks to be above average. She tries the 1450m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should notch up her fourth career victory.

Value Bet For Today

Race 8: BONNAROO (3)
Jockey: M Yeni – Trainer: M de Kock

BONNAROO ran a fair race in her comeback run over 1200m on the Vaal Classic course against male company. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Rafeef would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. She takes a drop in class and back against her own sex, she may be the one to side with
