argentina18The final round of matches in 2022 Fifa World Cup Group C take place on Wednesday when Poland take on Argentina and Saudi Arabia clash with Mexico

Odds provided by @BetXchange are correct at the time of writing but are subject to change.

Coming into the final round of matches which both share the same kick off time Poland top the group with 4 points, Argentina and Saudi Arabia both have 3 and

Mexico 1.

Poland 6/1 Draw 33/10 Argentina 5/10

Poland

Poland jumped to the top of the group courtesy of a 2-0 win over Saudi Arabia on Saturday. Zielinski towards the end of the first half and Lewandowski towards the end of the second were the goalscorers and Wojciech Szczesny saved a penalty when they were 1-0 up. That victory means a draw for Poland here would be enough to send them through but a defeat will leave them sweating on the outcome of the other match in this quartet.

Poland started with a 0-0 draw against Mexico. It was generally a game of few chances but Lewandowski did miss a second half penalty, that aside Poland created very little.

Argentina

Argentina put themselves on the board with a 2-0 win over Mexico in their second group match. Messi opened the scoring on 64 minutes and Enzo Fernandez scored a cracker of a second and Argentina now have their destiny back in their own hands as a win will be enough to take them through.

In their opening match Lionel Messi put Argentina in front from the penalty spot against Saudi Arabia. They had 69% of possession and 6 of 16 goal attempts were on target but VAR and an inspired opponent saw them fail to add to their tally and amazingly Saudi turned it around in the second half to win 2-1.

The Verdict:

Although their keeper has been excellent I'd be surprised if Poland can keep a clean sheet here and if I'm right there will likely need a goal(s) of their own to stay in the competition. With Lewandowski having broken his WC Finals scoring duck they might just be capable of contributing to the scoring and I'm with both sides to get on the scoresheet.

Bets: Both teams to score? (yes) at 12/10 with BetXchange

Saudi Arabia 7/2 Draw 31/10 Mexico 15/20

Saudi Arabia

Salem Al Dawsari was guilty of missing Saudi's spot kick against Poland, they had other chances too but also had their own woodwork struck twice. They still have the advantage of knowing victory here will be enough to take them through to the knockout rounds.

Saudi Arabia's opening match against Argentina had provided one of the biggest ever World Cup shocks as they beat Argentina 2-1. Saudi could be backed at 25/1 or so by kick off time, a one sided first half ended 1-0 to Argentina and in truth it could have been 4 or 5. Early second half goals from Saleh Al Shehri and Salem Al Dawsari turned things around and set up the most unlikely of comebacks.

Mexico

Mexico are regular fixtures in the knockout rounds but they are in big trouble after the 2-0 defeat to Argentina and the 0-0 draw with the Poles. Yet to score a goal they find themselves needing to win in this game, preferably with daylight and if they can do that their fate will be determined by the outcome of the above game.

The Verdict:

For a team yet to score Mexico are plenty short enough in the match result betting market and I doubt the defeat to Poland will have knocked any confidence out of the Saudi's.

I'm battling with this one but needs must for the Mexican's and Hirving Lanzano could be their best hope of a goal or two.

Bets: Anytime goalscorer Hirving Lanzano at 33/20 with BetXchange
