After a great start to RWC I have leaked badly the last 2 weekends - onto the quarter finals we go and I always enjoy punting knock out rugby
Here are my projected caps with actual caps in brackets
Wales -7.5 (-2.5) v Argentina
Ireland -3.5 (-1.5) v New Zealand
France -1.5 (-1.5) v South Africa
England -10.5 (-6.5) v Fiji[/b]
No cap for England (edit added England cap, 4 point difference) game yet and big difference in Wales game - I think this line will shift out
Look forward to your thoughts

I get it, they are on a great run, look like they have the measure of All Blacks.
But i just have this gut feel they go out Sat. NZ big guns to step up to the plate and deliver a huge performance. Sticking with it.

We have set up a new pool "A Clean Slate" where the scoring will only start from the quarterfinals so everyone starts - yes you guessed it - from a clean slate
Pokerbet are putting up a R1000 voucher for 1st, R500 for 2nd and R250 for 3rd - Click here if you don't have an account yet
But wait there is more ......
If you call all 8 games correctly with margin points (not easy but not impossible in the playoffs) they will throw in a R20 000 voucher
Click here to enter the pool
The more the merrier, invite your mates

I think best bet without doubt is under 43.5 France v Boks.
I havent checked weather but this match is under 40.5 match, will be blood and thunder, box kicks and pens. It should not make up unless France gets into a big lead early on which is unlikely.
Ireland should beat the AB and at that price, Im ok since i guess there will be some 5-6 on the exchanges.
Wales v Pumas - Cap that around 8 myself, cant see Wales not winning this given the way Argies been playing. Wales isnt a great team but everyone knows their job, that should be enough.
France should get the win against the Boks at home and with liekly Dupont back. Not so bullish on France winning if Lucu plays since he is slow and is generally shit. Will be even more keen on unders if Maxime plays 9 for France.
England v Fiji - England should really kick Fiji to death here but its quite hard to call. Cant see England chasing any scores here, if they go 2 tries down think they are a bit fucked imo. Interesting match and two poor sides.
Despite the turmoil off the field, the rugby produced in the premeriship in the last few seasons has been top notch to me. Good to have domestic season back.
Bristol v Tigers - Will be tight, have to fancy Bristol at home though esp at evens. Tigers will score a couple of maul tries Im sure given the new coach. Hopefully wont be enough.
Sarries v Exeter - Exeter teamsheet looks garbage imo..they have lost a few, fancy sarries to do them away from home.
Bath v Newcastle - Wouldnt normally fancy Bath to cover a big - hcp given the way they play and Im sure as hell their coach is average at best. But man mountain Alfie Balbary is back and he is worth about 5 points by himself and Bath teamsheet is decent cos they picked up so many players who lost their clubs.
GLouc v Quins - No opinion here, if had to pick Glouc at home....esp Quins is half the normal team without normal half backs although I expect J Evans to be ver good addition to Quins at 10.
Sale v Saints - Horror match up for Saints here. Fancy Sale strongly, cant see them losing, only problem would be couple of bullshit tries at the death to ruin hcp from Saints which can occur given their backline.

I fully agree with you Will, the Premiership provides good quality rugby which is predictable enough to add to the bank balance fairly consistently and has a good few Saffa players in the mix.
Along with the URC, which also produces excellent rugby. These 2 comps I do research, as we get TV coverage in SA.
I also punt the Pro14, which doesn't get TV coverage here, yet goes with the home team 90% of the time, without any but the most cursory of research.
I'm so thankful that the rugby continues, quite seamlessly, after the WC.
Good luck out there everybody
Edit, (after Taranaki just beat Canterbury): By the same yardstick, I'm so happy that the NPC is nearly over. It's become completely unpredictable in the last 4 weeks, a proper money toilet

NZ win @ 13/10
I dip in and out here. I'm Irish, live in Ireland. I have sporting PTSD from watching this Ireland team for the last few decades. I was in Cardiff when Argentina mauled us in 2015.
My opinion is this. I'll believe we can beat NZ in a knock out RWC game when it happens. Until it happens I'm a cynical non-believer. We can win all the 6Ns and test matches we like. All of it is completely worthless unless you can win the big prize. And every single time we've played a knock out world cup game we've been murdered. More than double scores in every game. Haven't even led a RWC QF since the first half in 1995!

Murdered by NZ in 2019
There HAS to be mental baggage on this team.
This Ireland NZ game is so interesting for about 10 different reasons. The main thing is the range of outcomes is as big as I can think of. Nothing would surprise me.
It's obvious that NZ rugby has been in decline for a few years. Do they have a kick left in them. If we dominated them and won by 20 I can see a path to that happening.
I can also see us freezing and being carved apart. It's genuinely fascinating. If it's tight do you see us or them having the know how to bring it home. I'd lean them.
I think for us to win we have to start fast and have them second guessing themselves.
If they start fast. Yikes. Watch out.
If I wasn't Irish I'd almost certainly be taking the 7/5 available out there on NZ. I'd also look at some kind of hcap HT/FT. If we have a mental break we'll be murdered yet again.
Elsewhere, I don't like the SA lineup. Leaning strongly to France. Mainly on the basis of your place kicking vs us was atrocious and no lessons have been learned there.

Starting Reinach and Libbok over Faf & Pollard when box kicking and goal kicking is key.
Having Willie on the bench, absolute defensive liability.
With this team, missed penalties/conversions off the tee, and with the French goal kicking, I cant see the boks winning this.
Hugely disappointed in this team announcement but will have seconds of humble pie if it comes off... but looking unlikely.

Also interesting Valence o24.5 @1.83
Strong lineup and with heavy wins at home against title contenders( Brive, Colomiers and BOP) I cannot see Rouen coping with that. A couple of important absences in Rouen backline (Lydon and Bly)

Probably the most satisfying betting win I’ve ever had. Stuck my neck out last week when said NZ would win this. got a load of flack from some Irish fans, surprising as all Irish fans I’ve met in person have been brilliant.
Harry said on the show Ireland have never been ahead 1 minute in a quarter final. Never. It was a stat that stunned me, was not aware. It continues.

I think Harrys stat was wrong though - lost to a late Aussie try in 1991 and led France in 95 quarter

Like Argentina, I think Fiji play better when they underdogs in a match. England missed a trick by not starting Ford, and I think Fiji will try to take whatever points are on offer.
Frank Lomani over 12.5 points - 3.50 (Sportingbet)
FRA vs RSA
I think it will be a proper knockout style rugby game and both teams will take points when it is offered. Ramos is a lethal kicker and like the game against NZ, France will seek to apply scoreboard pressure with penalty kicks.
Thomas Ramos over 15.5 points - 3.00 (Sportingbet)

Taken 10 units Boks under 19.5 @ evens, am standing to profit 20 units on acca but too much riding on this game in head, heart and pocket, so taking a mid profit position. If Boks end on 19 even better.
Should hopefully be a cracker.
