Aston Villa host Sheffield United in Friday night's English Premier League match and Villa are bidding to go top of the standings
Villa
Villa have taken 16 points from the last 18 available and they come into this round of matches in third spot, behind Arsenal on goal difference and 1 point behind league leaders Liverpool who will host the Gunners on Saturday. They have won all 8 home matches including a pair of 1-0 wins over Manchester City and Arsenal recently.
Villa's record against newly promoted sides this season includes a 3-1 home win over Luton and a 2-0 defeat away to Forest, their only loss in the last 13 league games.
Sheff United
Sheffield remain bottom of the standings with just 8 points and they are 6 adrift of fourth bottom Forest. Their most recent home game delivered just a second win of the season, 1-0 at home to Brentford but they couldn't follow up last weekend when they went down 2-0 at Chelsea. They have lost 7 of 8 road trips with a 1-1 draw at Brighton being their only return and they have scored 4 goals and conceded 22 on their travels.
The Betting
At the time of writing Villa are trading at 1 / 5 to win the game with the draw priced at 66/10 and Sheffield can be backed at around 12/1
A game of 3 goals or more is priced at 5/10 and it's 1.12/1 for both teams to score
The Verdict:
Obviously the respective home and away records of these 2 sides speaks volumes but Sheffield have looked more organized since Wilder returned to the club and it might not be a walk in the park for Villa.
For a betting interest I'm with Watkins to score with a header, something he did in the 2-1 win at Brentford last weekend.
Bets: Player to score with a header, Watkins at 6/1 with Pokerbet
