Nice one Monday night , well picked! I had a Highlanders under bet a few weeks ago that landed thanks to the TMO disallowing 3 tries in the last 15 minutes!
What an entertaining Monday night it was, I managed to recoup my UJ+20.5 and Ikeys 1-12 bets by taking UJ+98.5 just after half time. Never thought I would ever see such a high cap in running! Lesson learned from Monday: Wait till kick off before backing anything at the Green Mile. The way the Ikeys embraced the wind combined with poor defence from UJ set up that massive half time score.
Two early Super Rugby bets for now:
Highlanders +9.5 v Crusaders. Lavanini in line to debut this weekend. A few handbags were thrown during Crusaders training this week and one just feel that adds to their dismal start to the season, apart from the Chiefs game, thus far. On the plus, Will Jordan and Braydon Ennor returns for the Crusaders. Highlanders have a shocking record away from home in general and at this stadium, but if there is a chance to rectify it, it is this weekend. Also stabbing a small punt on Highlanders ML @ 13/4.
Reds - 6.5 v Waratahs. My best bet. The Reds boast a pretty impressive record at Suncorp Stadium and this cap would have arrived in 4 of the last 5 meetings between these teams in Brisbane. The Waratahs were horrible this past weekend while the Reds are on the up with a few key players back in action from injury. Reds have named a very strong team for this match as well. Tim Ryan, Josh Nasser, Fraser McReight and Harry Wilson will be popular fantasy rugby picks this weekend!
Six Nations: Ireland -4.5. The last time Scotland won a game in Dublin, was way back in 2010. We've seen a few matches this tournament where a team lifts themselves for the occasion despite having a moderate or underwhelming performance the previous week. The winner of this match will be the "clubhouse leader" for the tournament till the France v England match, so everything to play for. The question will also be out if Scotland gave their best 80min against France and if they would be able to repeat that performance on Saturday.
Athletico Madrid v Tottenham
Madrid great at home, Spurs have said they're prioritising the league, Madrid's odds lengthen for some reason. Strange, but can't see anything other than a comfortable home win. Can see them wanting to put it to bed in the first leg, so will go for some bigger odds. ( 4/6 for a home win looks value for accas )
Athletico Madrid over 2.5 goals @ 23/10 ( paddy power )
A bit of a miserable effort on Tuesday apart from a couple of 4th places in the big handicaps but I played for wins so a tough day. Will have another go later in the week.
