Race 1 

TEMPRANILLO is an unraced daughter of Querari from the Johan Janse van Vuuren stable with Gavin Lerena in the saddle. She is related to multiple winners including Barbaresco and Outofthedarkness. If not in need of this outing, she should start her career on a positive note.

EMERALD FORGE has placed in her first two career outings. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight drops to 1160m and she may be the first raced runner past the post.

ALTA CAPITANA is a daughter of Captain Of All from the Sean Tarry yard and Craig Zackey is booked to ride. If not too green in running, she should give a good account of herself.

Race 2

RACEWAY showed good improvement when second over 1000m on this course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The daughter of New Predator is a progressive type and with Gavin Lerena in the saddle, she can go one better.

JAZZ PIANIST produced an encouraging debut effort over 1000m on this course. She raced from a prominent position and stayed on at the finish. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Rafeef would have gained from the experience and she should make the natural improvement.

LIMERICK LACE is an unraced daughter of Danon Platina from the Mike and Mathew de Kock stable with Callan Murray in the saddle. She is related to three-time winner King’s Island. If not in need of the run, she should give a good account of herself. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her and the other first timers.

Race 3

BALULE ran a good race on debut over 1200m on the Inside course. He raced from a prominent position, but found one too good in the form of Zalatoris. The son of Buffalo Bill Cody would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

CARNARVON stayed on when second over 1000m on this course last time. The son of Elusive Fort is coming along the right way and he is one of the leading contenders.

TIME WILL TELL finished 1.7 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

Race 4

PRETTY PERSUASIVE produced a promising debut effort over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. It must be noted that Military Command has come out and won again since. The daughter of Vercingetorix would have gained from the experience and she should love the rise to 1400m. She jumps from a good draw of three and if fit, she should be the one to beat.

VIPINGO has run three good races to date. She gets the tongue-tie fitted for the first time which may do the trick. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

TUSCAN ROMANCE is better than her last start over 1500m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. She has finished second three times from four starts over this distance. This is her first run on the Highveld and with luck from the widest draw, she can show.

Race 5

RADIO STAR is a son of Fire Away from the Mike and Adam Azzie stable with Gavin Lerena booked to ride. He is related to multiple winners Kotinos and Otto Luyken. If not too green in running, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other unraced entrants.

TAKE NO PRISONERS is a son of Vercingetorix from the Mike and Mathew de Kock yard with Callan Murray in the irons. If not in need of this outing, he should give a good account of himself.

TWO FOR THE BOYS has shown improvement with the blinkers fitted. He finished third over this distance at the Vaal in his penultimate run. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should be the first raced runner past the post.

 

 

Race 6

DOUGLAS DRAGON ran a fair race in his comeback effort over 1600m at the Vaal. He has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this distance. The son of Lancaster Bomber would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Jarryd Penny knows him well and he can return to winning ways.

VESUVIO ran a fair race when fourth over 2000m on the Inside course last time. He drops back in class and with Gavin Lerena in the saddle, he should pose a threat.

STAR COIN finished 1.4 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

Race 7

GIMMETHEGOODLIFE returns from a 10-week break and is having his first run for the Tony Peter stable. His last three starts over 1400m have been fair. The son of Gimmethegreenlight won his only attempt over this distance. He jumps from pole position with Gavin Lerena booked to ride. If settled into his new surroundings, he should be hard to peg back.

POCKET WATCH ran a fair race in his comeback run over this C&D. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. From his good draw of three, he would not be a shock winner.

ORANGE COUNTY was his own worst enemy over 2000m last time as he over raced in the early stages. He should enjoy the drop to 1600m and if switching off early, he can show.

Race 8

BACCHUS is better than his last three starts. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth in his last outing has come out and won since. He has won once and finished second once from three starts over this distance. On best form shown, he can notch up his third-career victory.

DON’T CRY FOR ME is better than his last two starts suggest. His last victory came over 1800m in this division. Piere Strydom steps back into the saddle and he can find a form return.

COMMAND PILOT should have finished closer in the Listed WSB Sledgehammer last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won a Grade 3 since. He jumps from pole position and with luck in running, he should be competitive.

Race 9

FASTNET FILLY tried hard when second in the Listed In Full Flight Handicap last time. The daughter of Fastnet Rock is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D. She is drawn on the outside of the course and can keep that record intact.

JUST BE LEKKER tried hard when second over 1400m on this course last time. She has won over this C&D previously. Serino Moodley is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

POBLANO is better than her last start in the Grade 2 Wilgerbosdrift Gauteng Fillies Guineas. She finished second in her penultimate run over this C&D. If not in need of this outing, she should give a good account of herself.

Race 10

DIVINE MOONLIGHT was outrun late when fourth over 1100m on this course last time. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. The daughter of Querari runs well for Raymond Danielson and she would not be a shock winner.

FLIGHT OF A CONDOR won a good race over 1200m at the Vaal last time. She finished 1 length behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights and may have to settle for the same result.

FULLY COMMITTED followed up her debut victory with a good third-place finish over 1200m on the Vaal Classic course. The daughter of Captain Of All has plenty of scope and cannot be ignored
