HIGHLANDERS V FIJIAN DRUA

This handicap has been stable at Highlanders -8.5 all week. I see quite a bit of support come for the Drua, but I just can’t have them with such a terrible away record.

Prior to the big defeat against the Blues last week the Highlanders have strung a three-victory together in a row and I think they should be too strong for the Drua at home. Last time these sides met in Dunedin it was the Highlanders that came out on top 57-24 last year and I would be more than happy with a similar outcome. I also think the Total Points line of 55.5 might be a touch low and will post any additional bets in the forum.

REDS v FORCE

Posted 24 May, 23h43

There was some +16.5 Force available overseas earlier in the week, but that was snapped up and the line seems to have settled round the 13.5 mark. The Force are sitting just outside the Top 8, but with the Drua and Highlanders playing each other on Sunday, they will know that a victory here could put them into the qualification spots.

As the betting suggests it won’t be easy against this Reds team especially when you factor in the Force’s poor record on the road this season. I took some Force +14.5 earlier in the week and with the line not having moved much will go with the visitors on the handicap. I haven't given the current points line of 52.5 much consideration, but will post any bets in our Forum.

CRUSADERS V BLUES

Posted 25 May, 08h12

I handicapped this game Blues -8.5 and the betting opened -7.5 however there has been some support for the Crusaders and it seems to have settled at +5.5 the home team.

The Crusaders still have a small chance of qualifying but I am not sure the belief is in the camp and I think a Blues side that is looking to keep themselves at the top of the log will take control of this match at some stage. I am on the minus.

The points line ranges from 50.5 to 52.5 at the time of writing and if I was not involved in the handicap I would be on the unders as I can see this one being an arm wrestle in fairly cold conditions.

BET: 4 units Blues -5.5 at 10/11 at Sportingbet*

MOANA PASIFIKA v WARATAHS

Posted 24 May, 07h49

This is a tough game to call as neither team should be trusted with too much of your hard-earned cash.

I capped this game Waratahs -4.5 and am going to stick with my guns here and suggest they will win on the board.

On last nights rugby betting show THE HANDICAP The Mossman was thinking along similar lines and suggested that Moana were probably not the ideal team to take advantage of the Waratahs front row woes.

The points line is 58.5 and if pushed I would take the overs but the line looks pretty well set.

BET: 3 units Waratahs win at 13/10 at WSB

BRUMBIES v REBELS

Posted 23 May, 23h08

The line has been stable at -14.5 all week and I am looking to the points lines for some action.

The Mossman our regular guest on THE HANDICAP liver 21h00 every Thursday modelled the total points line at 58.5. Conditions look like playing ball and I am going to join him on the overs at 55.5.

CHIEFS v HURRICANES

Posted 23 May, 22h53

This handicap opened Chiefs -2.5 and the line has moved to -4.5 which is where I set it when opening this weeks rugby betting forum thread.

I can’t shake this feeling that the Hurricanes may have peaked a bit too soon in what is a long season and I am going to back the Chiefs to beat the handicap.

The points line of 52.5 looks well set to me.
