India and New Zealand contest the final of the T20 World Cup in Ahmedabad on Sunday and Couch Critic nails up his plays which are boosted by @PokerbetSA

GOING FOR GOLD – India vs New Zealand, Ahmedabad

South Africans will have been wishing and hoping that there was some green to go with the gold on show on Sunday but alas it is not the case. It’s the royal blues against the Black Caps for the gold medal (or silverware in this case I suppose).

The biggest cricket stadium in the world will play host to one of the biggest games of cricket in the world. There would have been no doubt from the home faithful that their beloved India would be in action, but they might have expected South Africa or England to be their rivals for the top spot. Instead the Kiwis are the unlikely heroes who come into this clash having royally dispatched of the Proteas in the Semi-Finals.

The Ahmedabad track has proven decent for batting thus far, but if the trend of the latter games in the competition is anything to go by, we can expect an even flatter track than has previously been the case.

Whilst India were pushed to the brink by the Poms in their Semi, New Zealand were utterly dominant over the South Africans. There was certainly a golden tinge to that display from Mitch Santner’s men and the unlikely heroes (surely most neutrals will be cheering for the Black Caps in this one) will be keen to claim the ultimate prize come Sunday evening.

Can the Kiwis go again and delivery another 18-carat performance or will their effort be more aluminium of nature at this final time of asking…

New Zealand Top Batter – DJ Mitchell 10.00 with Pokerbet

Of been on Mitchell before and he might sound a strange pick again here. Mitchell has hardly gotten a proper innings going thus far but came into the comp in great form. I expect him to shine in what is expected to be a tightly contested game with both sides needing a total team effort to claim the prize. DJ, time to play the music

New Zealand Top Bowler – C McConchie 6.50 with Pokerbet

I was tempted to go with Phillips again, but he didn’t even get a bowl against South Africa. With plenty of left handers in the Indian line-up the off-spin option is likely to be called on. McConchie is likely to open the bowling again, we should know very early on whether we’re in the running with this one or not.

India Top Batter – S Dube 17.00 with Pokerbet

Dube is a massive price and I can understand why. But in times of crisis, gold is the thing to invest in and Dube’s form has been golden. If the dice fall in our favour we could be on a big runner here.

Player of the Match – JJ Bumrah @ 8.50 with Pokerbet

Bumrah proved a cut above in the match against England. I picked him for this award on that occasion and will go again with the same pick.
