Monday’s English Premier League football sees Arsenal head to Aston Villa and we take a look at a number of options available to punters
Villa
Villa had a nightmare start to the season, crashing to a 4-0 defeat away to Brighton. An early own goal from Lindelof set the tone for the day and they were 4-0 down by the 31st minute. That was the end of the scoring but Villa then had new signing João Gomes sent off just before the break.
Villa have sold some big players and this week Ollie Watkins (Al-Hilal), Emiliano Martinez (Chelsea) and Ezri Konsa (Arsenal) joined the exodus. They are hoping to secure the signing of Nicholas Jackson to replace Watkins before the transfer window closes.
Arsenal
After beating Man City 3-0 in the Community Shield Arsenal’s defence of the EPL title began at home to newly promoted Coventry last weekend and they came through with a comfortable 3-0 win. First half goals from Havertz and Saka and a third from Odegaard just after the break sealed the win in what was a one sided contest.
Arsenal came unstuck in this fixture last season, losing 2-1 but they did win the return in London 4-1.

Villa are trading at 17/4 with the draw at 29/10 and Arsenal can be backed at around 5/1

Verdict:
There has been a huge turnover of players arriving and departing at Villa this season and things could have have been worse at Brighton last week. A date with the champions is hardly the fixture you would choose to bounce back and I would be surprised if Arsenal fail to win.
