Our featured Betway Premiership matches taking place on Wednesday see Orlando Pirates travel to take on Golden Arrows and Mamelodi Sundowns play host to TS Galaxy

Before we take a look at the current form of both sides let’s take in the current standings at the top of the Betway Premiership.

Note that on Tuesday including second place Sekhukhune at home to Richards Bay and Kaizer Chiefs host Orbit College so the standings will have changed by Wednesday.

Betway Premiership Standings (as of 3rd November)

1st: Sundowns, 22 points from 1 matches

2nd. Sekhukhune, 20 points from 10 matches

3rd. Pirates, 19 points from 9 matches

4th Kaizer Chiefs 19 points from 10 matches

Golden Arrows 54/10 Draw 2.65/1 Orlando Pirates 11/20

Arrows have 5 wins, 1 draw and 5 defeats to their name, scoring 17 goals and conceding 13. All 5 of those wins came in home games, most recently they saw off Orbit College 3-0 and then Marumo Gallants 4-0. The pick of their results is a 1-0 victory over Sundowns, they did lose 1-0 to Kaizer Chiefs in another home fixture but there is no doubt they are a tough opponent in KZN.

Pirates played out a 1-1 draw with Sundowns at Loftus on Saturday to maintain the status quo in the title race. That ended a run of 6 straight league wins, all of which came with a clean sheet and they now take on an Arrows side who they have beaten in each of the last 6 head to heads in the league.

The Verdict:

The match result odds pay little respect to a solid home record that Arrows boast, and Pirates will have to be on top of their game to come through with maximum points. Despite Pirates keeping regular clean sheets there is enough in those Arrows results in KZN to point me towards both teams finding the net.

Bet: Both teams to score? (Yes) at 15/10 with Betway

Sundowns 3/10 Draw 38/10 TS Galaxy 10/1

Sundowns have won 6, drawn 4 and lost 1 of their league matches so far, scoring 18 goals and conceding 6. Their only defeat came 1-0 away to Golden Arrows and since then they bounced back with a 4-1 home win over Richards Bay followed by Saturday’s draw with Pirates. Downs had previously won all 4 of their home fixtures with other dropped points coming in draws away to Chippa, Kaizer Chiefs and Marumo Gallants.

TS Galaxy are going pretty well with a record of 5 wins, 1 draw and 4 defeats. They have scored 16 goals and conceded 11 and away from home they have lost 3 of 5 alongside a win at Orbit College and a draw at Richards Bay.

The corresponding fixture last season was won 4-1 by Sundowns but Galaxy did turn the champions over in the other league meeting with a 1-0 win.

Verdict

It’s hard to oppose Sundowns but Galaxy are not doing too badly. The likes of Durban City and Richards Bay both lost away to Sundowns but did find the net and I’m wagering this one could follow suit.

Bet: Match result and both teams to score, Sundowns and yes at 31/10 with Betway
