The first three English Premier League matches on the midweek coupon take place on Tuesday and we take a look at Bournemouth v Everton, Fulham v Manchester City and Newcastle v Spurs
Prices quoted are correct at the time of publication but subject to change.
Bournemouth v Everton
Bournemouth let an early 2-0 lead slip in a 3-2 defeat at Sunderland on Saturday and they slipped down to 11th position although with 19 points they are only 3 behind fifth placed Brighton. They had a man sent off (Scott) and will also be without suspended defender Senesi for this game but they are unbeaten at home with 4 wins and 2 draws.
Everton had a poor day on Saturday, losing 4-1 at home to Newcastle who found the net 3 times in the first half. In their most recent road trip Everton had a man sent off early on but still came away from Old Trafford with a 1-0 win over Man United. Everton are just below halfway in the table with 18 points, their other away win this season came at struggling Wolves.
I’m sticking with Dewsbury Hall to register a shot on target for Everton. He has scored Everton’s last 2 goals and in a side short of goal threats in the striking department, he could will need second invitation to shoot.
Bet: Player shots on target Dewsbury Hall 1 or more at 18/10 with Sportingbet
Fulham v Man City
Fulham scored 2 early goals and went on to see off Apus 2-1 for their first away win the season. Prior to that they were deserved winners (1-0) at home to Sunderland, a fourth home win of the campaign alongside a draw with Man United and a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal. Fulham now have 17 points, 6 clear of the drop zone.
City were 2-0 and cruising at home to Leeds at half time on Saturday but that lead disappeared and they needed a late goal to rescue a 3-2 victory to finish the round in second place, now 5 points behind Arsenal. City had previously lost 2-1 at Newcastle in the EPL and after ringing the changes for a UCL home fixture in midweek they went down 2-0 to Leverkusen. They have only won 2 of 6 road trips this season, drawing 1 and losing 3 and goals have not really been flowing as one would expect with 8 scored and 6 conceded.
As mentioned City’s away games have been fairly low scoring but I can see that changing here and I’m going to take my chances with 4 or more.
Bet: Total goals over 3.5 at 1.66/1 with Pokerbet
Newcastle v Spurs
Newcastle’s long wait for an EPL away win arrived in some style when they saw off Everton 3-1. They are now looking for a fourth straight league win at St. James Park having beaten City, Fulham and Forest here recently and they will come into the game in 13th place, behind Spurs on goal difference.
Spurs had a rough last week, losing 2-1 at hone to Fulham and 4-1 at Arsenal with side of a 5-3 defeat away to PSG in the UCL. Spurs have now taken just 5 points from 6 home games in the EPL this season but on the road they have won 4, drawn and 1 and lost the derby at Arsenal
Spurs defence has to be a worry after the last week or so and they will need big improvement against a side in good home form. I'll go with both teams to score in a game of 3 goals or more
Bet: Both teams o score and over 2.5 total goals? yes at 11/10 with Sportingbet
