Wednesday’s English Premier League game sees Manchester City bid to keep their title hopes alive when they host Crystal Palace.

Man City

This is City’s game in hand on league leaders Arsenal and they have 5 points worth of daylight to make up with this game, a visit to Bournemouth and another home game against Villa on the final day of the season to come. City also have an FA Cup Final date with Chelsea this coming weekend as they bid to add more silverware having already banked the EFL Cup this season. For reference, Arsenal have 2 games remaining, a home fixture against already relegated Burnley which looks like a penalty kick followed by a visit to Crystal Palace.

City were 3-0 winners at home to Brentford at the weekend, returning to the winners box after scrambling a 3-3 draw at Everton last midweek.  That’s 13 league games unbeaten of which 9 have been won but they still need Arsenal to trip up somewhere if they are to be crowned champions and goal difference between the two sides is tight.

Palace

Palace played out a 2-2 draw at home to Everton at the weekend, coming from 1-0 and then 2-1 down to take their points tally to 44 and officially safe from any threat of relegation. Their season now revolves around the Europa Conference League final against Rayo Vallecano but with this game, a visit to Brentford and the home fixture against Arsenal their remaining opponents have plenty riding on the outcomes.

Since winning at Spurs in early match recent road trips saw Palace concede 3 goals at Liverpool (lost 3-1) and Bournemouth (lost 3-0). City won the first league meeting this season 3-0 at Selhurst Park in early December but their fans will not need reminding it was Palace who beat them in last season’s FA Cup Final at Wembley.

The Betting

In the match result betting Man City are 1 / 5 with Sportingbet who go 25/4 the draw and Palace can be backed at 11/1

A game of 3 goals or more is priced at 4/9 and it’s 11/10 for both teams to score

The Verdict

I’m looking to the cards markets for a betting interest. I can’t City wanting to this match to get too heated and I’m hoping Palace will follow suit, no more than 3 cards is my play.

Bet: Total cards, under 3.5 at even money with Sportingbet
