The two remaining MTN8 quarter finals take place on Sunday when Amazulu host Sekhukhune in the early kick off followed by Kaizer Chiefs vs Golden Arrows
Amazulu vs Sekhukhune
Last season Amazulu fell at this first hurdle in the MTN8 after losing 3-2 at Stellenbosch in extra time. They went on to finish fourth in the Betway Premiership, albeit some distance off the 3 teams above them. Last weekend Amazulu began their league campaign with a 1-0 win away to Stellenbosch.
Sekhukhune finished fifth in the league last season and they were 1-0 winners against Polokwane City in their opening round of Betway Premiership last weekend. They quickly shift their focus to cup football and in the MTN8 of 2025 Sekhukhune won their quarter final at home to TS Galaxy 3-2 before they lost to Stellenbosch 3-1 on aggregate in the semi’s.
Both of last season’s league meetings finished all square, 1-1 and 2-2.
Verdict
This is a wide open betting heat and at first show Amazulu were 15/10, the draw t 17/10 and Sekhukhune could be backed at 2/1. I can see why the draw is trading where it is with both sides winning their first league games and bearing in mind both meetings last season finished all square. We might have to go beyond regulation time to settle this argument.

Kaizer Chiefs vs Golden Arrows
We haven’t seen Chiefs in the MTN8 since 2023 but on the back of a third place finish in the league n 2025/26 they make a welcome return. Chiefs began the new Betway Premiership season with a 3-1 win at newcomers Kruger United last weekend, they still look work in progress under the new coach but it was a positive start nonetheless.
Arrows first Betway Premiership action of the season saw them play out a disappointing 0-0 draw at home to Chippa United. A sixth placed finish in the league last season has earned them another crack at getting their hands on the first silverware on 2025/26.
Chiefs did the double over Arrows in the league last season with a pair of 1-0 wins.
Verdict
Arrows were frustrating at the weekend and with home advantage Chiefs should get the job done but as was the case last season it might only be by the minimum margin.
