The latest Goodforthegame newsletter penned by @BrentGraham with best bets for the weekend 7th to 8th March including Six Nations Rugby

Over the years I have often compared sports betting to batting at cricket. One minute you are in form and middling everything and then suddenly something subtle changes and the ball is flying off the edge of your bat to a greedy slip cordon. At the moment I am struggling to even find the edge of the bat!

In my younger days I would have tried to hit my way into form (chased) and either succeeded or got myself into a position where I had no choice but to put my feet up and take a break.
Older and hopefully wiser I have reduced my stakes and am trying to put the enjoyment back into betting by mixing things up a bit.

There is some great sport on this weekend but with my confidence down I am not strong an anything so my betting strategy will be a bit different than normal as I search for the sweet spot of the bat.

THE HANDICAP

I took a break from the show this week as far as presenting goes but I was in the studio listening to @TheCroweTips chatting to The Mossman and @TheAdmiral about Super Rugby and Six Nations. It was enjoyable to be able to listen fully to that chat without concentrating on the flow of the show and if you missed it below are some short cuts:

Jump to Blues v Crusaders
Jump to Brumbies v Reds
Jump to Scotland v France
Jump to Italy v England

T20 World Cup Final

Couch Critics excellent coverage of the T20 World Cup comes to an end this weekend and his preview of the final with 20% boosts on winnings from Pokerbet will be up later today.

It was certainly a tough week to be a Protea fan and the semi-final was one of those days where nothing went our way and our opponents New Zealand were brilliant.
I give them a fighting chance against short priced favourites India who held off a superb run chase from England in semi-final 2.
The difference between the 2 sides was the incredible Jasprit Bumrah and although teams tend to play him conservatively I reckon he gets amongst the wickets and grabs the POTM on Sunday

BET: 0.5 units (1-5) Bumrah Player of the Match at 11/1 at Pokerbet

Six Nations 1-12 double

I caught the unders in Dublin last night and I must say it was great to see Wales really competing (its also the reason I am sending this after midnight).
I am expecting competitive games later today and will take France and England to both come away with narrow victories

BET: 1 unit France 1-12 (19/10) and England 1-12 (35/20) at 6.97/1 at Betxchange

Old Flames Blues to beat the Crusaders

My past romances with the Blues (and France) are well documented but looking at the lineups I expect them to beat the handicap against the Crusaders in a few hours time.

All of my Super Rugby plays are in the blog and I an treading carefully as I am really battling to read this tournament.
Come on Blues get me back on track.

BET: 2 units Blues -1.5 at 19/20 at WSB

That’s all from me, have a great weekend and here is hoping you find the middle of the bat.

Cheers
