Winning Form selections for @Hollywoodbets Greyville on Monday 23rd February where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge
Race 1
LOU LOU ran a creditable race when second over 1200m on this course last time. She stayed on at the finish but found one too good in the form of Nebulous. The daughter of Declarationofpeace is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. From pole position, she can go one better.
ROY‘S BLOSSOM finished 0.9 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.
SAUDI SWEEP has been costly to follow in her last three starts. She has finished third in all three attempts on this track. The daughter of Pomodoro drops to 1000m which may do the trick. Chad Little is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
Race 2
BRIGITTE ANNE hails from the visiting Johan Janse van Vuuren stable. She set the pace over 1450m on the Vaal Classic course last time before getting caught late by Falconfly. The daughter of Querari carries a handy galloping mass of 53.5kgs and if taking to the polytrack, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
BLUE STEEL finished second in his first outing in KwaZulu-Natal. Serino Moodley steps into the saddle and if keeping on a straight line, he should pose a massive threat.
WINDING POWER was running on when second over 1200m on this course last time. The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests that he will love the rise to 1400m. He is a horse with scope and should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 3
LILTING SONG was disappointing over 1800m last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. Her penultimate run when fourth over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth was decent. She is having her first outing in KwaZulu-Natal and if settled into her new surroundings, she can shed her maiden tag.
PRAISE DE LA REY‘S last four starts have been decent. She raced from a handy position over 1800m last time and stayed on to finish fourth. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, she should pose a threat.
CALI BULLET ran a fair race over this C&D last time. She lost a length leaving the start and stayed on at the finish. S’manga Khumalo rides and he may be able to get the best out of her where it matters most.
Race 4
KUMEMORI‘S last two starts have been good. He ran on strongly when second over 1400m on this course last time. The removal of the blinkers seems to have done the trick. The 6yo gelding has dropped to a competitive rating and he can go one better.
RECORD HIGH stayed on at the finish over 1800m last time but found one too good in the form of Salani Kahle. He has cracked a good draw of three and is one of the leading contenders.
WORLD OF OUR OWN stayed on when third over this distance on the turf last time. Keagan de Melo knows the son of One World well and the combination will be finishing strongly.
Race 5
SAINT BRIGID is better than her last start as she was reported to be not striding out. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She won a good race over this distance on the turf in her penultimate run. If taking to the polytrack, she can notch up her fourth-career victory.
IZIBULO is a winner of her last two starts over 1400m on this course. She raced from a handy position last time, showed a good turn of foot and drew clear of the opposition. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber is in a good space and can bring up the hat-trick.
LA MADDALENA was in need of her comeback run over 1950m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that Curious Girl has come out and won again since. She will strip much fitter and on previous form, she should be involved at the finish.
Race 6
SUNDANCE KID‘S last two starts under Apprentice Dezahn Louw have been good. He finished 0.15 lengths behind ISIVIVANE in his last outing over 1600m. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish. He is likely to find himself in front from the widest draw and may be hard to catch.
ISIVIVANE ran a good race when third in the Non-Black Type umThombothi Stakes last time. He lost two lengths leaving the start, raced from a handy position and stayed on at the finish. The son of Erupt is an honest individual and merits healthy respect.
IMPERIAL POWER finished 1.35 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the tables.
Race 7
GIMMETHEGOODLIFE is better than his last start over 1000m on the Vaal Classic course. His two starts prior to that outing were good. He has won twice and finished third once from as many starts on this course. The son of Gimmethegreenlight should get a good run in transit from pole position and he can return to winning ways.
GOOD TRAVELLER is a winner of his last two starts, the latest of which was over 1000m on this track. He has won once and finished second twice from as many starts over this C&D. He is in a good space and can bring up the hat-trick.
SOHO STAR ran on well when winning his last start over this distance on the turf. He returns from a well-deserved 11-week break. If not in need of this outing, he should give a good account of himself.
Race 8
TLADI MOTHWANA followed up her maiden victory with an encouraging fifth-place finish over 1400m on this course. The daughter of Buffalo Bill Cody may be at her best over this distance at this stage of her career. She is a filly with some class about her and if all goes according to plan, she may be the one to beat.
SHE‘S A MACHINE has consistent form lines to her credit. She has won once and finished second once from three starts over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
HATHIGHWAYTOTHESKY ran on powerfully when winning her last start over this distance at the Vaal. The daughter of Hat Puntano has ability and if all went well with her travels, she should be involved at the finish.
Race 9
QUEEN FENN followed up her maiden victory with a good third-place finish over this C&D. She ran on strongly at the business end that day. It must be noted that Dawn Surprise has come out and won again since. It is encouraging that Keagan de Melo steps into the saddle and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.
ACACIA‘S BLOSSOM challenged strongly over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Kaapse Klopse. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the wide draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners under Craig Zackey.
SCARLET STARLET won a game race on debut over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She takes on stronger, but could be anything and can keep her unbeaten record intact
